Frogs and Turtles!!
the front is not quite done yet... i still have to form a frame and cover it with fabric and place that on here... so right now it just looks plain... i used a coordinating fabric for the inside.... i know it looks funny that i didn't cover that white panel you see, but if i did, it would be too thick to close the album... so on the norm, i don't usually cover it... all i have to do is add magnetic pages and start putting baby's ultrasound picks in here... =D
silly me, i haven't been really paying any attention to the dates (or days too, LOL) and i just saw that my blogaversary is coming up... yippeee!!! i actually created my blog in June 2009, but didn't start posting until July... but i deemed that every June would be my anniversary... SO, i will be celebrating my ONE YEAR BLOGAVERSARY on June 1st... i haven't summoned up the deets as how my giveaways would go, so be sure to check back on the 1st for all the friendly details... wow, are you as excited as i am?!?
okie dokie, kiddies are hanging out at Great-Grandma's house so Mommy is headed to the craft room to play... i hope to get my mojo going... can't take a break from crafting too long, i start to rust... LOL... be back soon!!
Another attempt at a shaker card!
also got to blurf on Friday and pick up some inspirations from some GFs of mine... which helped a lot trying to create... had to finish up 2 graduation cards (that i failed to take a picture of since i was in a hurry to get it in the mail) and a challenge card...
today i share with you my challenge card for La-La lands Weekly Wednesday Challenge #40 - Nestie Shaped Card.... this challenge is issued by DT memeber 1LuvnMama.... Thanks sweetie, i don't think i've ever used a nestie as the base of my card... =D here it is...
i wanted to use a nestie that would give me room to create so i used the square scalloped nestie... after blurfing and checking out my GF Joy's creations, she inspired me to try and do a shaker card... Joy is really the shaker queen and all her shaker creations are wonderful... check her out... i've done a shaker before and i don't do them often so it was nice to try again... always pick up my mistakes after doing one... with this one, i used the wrong kind of beads, it's not really small enough to get a full shaking effect but it will do... i used Lala Mermaid, one of the new stamps i just purchased from Lala Land... and cut her to fit into the window area... although you cannot tell, i used wave DP for the card... also used the sun stamp from Dandelion Designs and punched some fishes to add to the framing... and of course, ribbon!
do you all like it??? i have to work on the shaker technique a little more but i do like the way this creation turned out... my concept was there... LOL!
hubby and some friends want to go fishing today... and the kids are asking for some beach time... so i guess that's on our agenda... so like yesterday, i don't think i'll have any crafting time unless i get my buns moving now... hmmm, yah, i don't think so... i'm still a little sleepy... hehe! i'll share with you the photo album i put together on Friday tomorrow... so come and check that out too... it was really hard not to add frilly girly things like lace, but i think it came out well otherwise... for a boy anyway... Hope you all have a wonderful rest of today and i'll check you out soon!!

May OCS
Summer started yesterday for my DD#1... and she has a week off before starting her summer program... so yesterday we went to my dr. appt and then to the mall for some shopping and play time at the playground... i must have over did it, because i was in extreme pain yesterday... my back was so sore i was on the edge of crying and then i was having little contractions... contractions have gone away but the back pain still lingers... hubby gave me the NO crafting tonight look so i put in a dvd and he was nice to give me a little massage... so, there was no crafting at all yesterday... man, if this keeps up i'm going to loose my mojo again... but from my first pregnancy, i've had early contractions so that's something i need to watch out... i was bedridden with DD#1 and on the line with DD#2.... i think i've learned my lesson when they say to take it easy... being bedridden ain't fun at all!
today i share with you my May OCS from my partner June!!
how did she know i LOVE TGF stamps!!! look at this cute hula Anya she created with!! i love the flower paper and her coloring on Anya!! Thank you June for a wonderful swap!!
here's the card i created for her...

A fluttering farewell....
Well friends, this is the last challenge for the month of May at Flutter by Wednesday and it is my last DT post for the team as well... if you've been following the blog, you may have noticed some changes... if you haven't seen it yet, head on over to the FBW blog and grab your new badges and please read on for the changes that will be effective as of July... what? huh? July? yes, the FBW team will be taking the month of June off... meaning there is no challenges for June and the blog will resume the first Wednesday of July... not catching on? all the details are on the FBW blog...
so yes, i will not be on the team for the next term, but i'm hoping to join up again for the next call... we'll see... with life changes slowly approaching, i can't really plan that far ahead... to my fellow team members... i will MISS you all dearly!! i have enjoyed my time with all of you and have made numerous new found friendships... a goal for me is to play along with the new team as much as i can, when time permits... i wish EVERYONE the best of luck in old and new adventures... i still know where to find you!! hehe!!
okie dokie, time to move on before i start to cry (very emotional these days)... FBW#111 is an OPEN challenge... create anything as long as you include a butterfly, fairy or angel... please leave a direct link to your creations on the FBW blog using InLinkz... if uploading to an online gallery, please use keyword FBW111.... here's my creation...
used Manga Fairy/Sugar Nellie paired with the field fence from CC Designs... i think it's really cute how she's sitting on the fence... although you can't really see it in the pix, i glittered her wings, wand and stars on her sandals with stickles... off centered the main panel and added a few dew drops... simple right?!
want more delicious inspirations to get your mojo going? please visit the rest of the Flutter bys... links are on my sidebar...
Flutter on and i hope to see you landing on the FBW blog! Have a fairy beautiful day!!!
Sparkling Sweet Pea
and before i begin, i would like to extend another HUGE Thank You to Lynette of Sweet Pea Stamps for the awesome May prize and one to Randi, for coordinating this fantastic sponsorship!!! did you all LOVE seeing the creations using the stamps from Sweet Pea by the team members?!?! i sure enjoyed seeing my fellow teammates rockin' their creativity!!! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! again and again Lynette and Randi!! and all the players that have been joining us each week...
a little heads up on what to look forward to.... please be sure to join us next week at the Dare for an exciting announcement and a GIGANTIC prize PACK!! yes, PACK in all capitals, because it is something you don't want to miss! hmmm, i leave you with anticipation on that.... hehe!
DDSC#37 hostess this week is Kim and her double daring sweet daughters Kaeli and Emilie... and they are daring you to SPARKLE!! easy right?! both girls are huge fans of sparkle and would love to see you create with anything that will make your creation sparkle and shine... a few faves are glitter stickles and glitter pens... so bring those out and play along with us at the Dare!
i LOVE glitter and sparkle too... so i couldn't help but bring out some glitter papers and stickles this week... i used yet another Ching-Chou Kiuk design and sparkled this mermaid up... the colors are bold and fierce, but shines... parts of the image is glittered, but i think the paper adds to it too....
need more inspiration??? check out the rest of the Daredevils....

Goodies galore!
anywho, i know some of you are waiting to see what i spent my (or the hubby's) moola on while checking out the craft stores on Oahu, so before i put those away i snapped this pix....
LOTS of new stamps!!! mainly CC designs... ones that i can use with other stamps and so forth... this is everything i found and wanted (actually i really wanted more) at various stores... you can spy that i finally got me a Manga stamp and some TGF ones i didn't have yet (can you believe that, LOL).... and of course embellies... also got 2 new cuttlebug folders that are hidden in the back... Thanks to hubby for putting up with my addiction and letting me go a little wild in buying... hehe! i feel so deprived on this island with only one craft store and not much to tend to my crafting needs... i take that back... we have another small craft store but it's geared more towards the tropical flair.. you know, everything Hawaii! tropical papers, tropical die cuts and stamps... can't really go outside the box with those... but i did notice that slowly, our Ben Franklin Craft store is bringing in more embellies from big companies like Bo Bunny and Pebbles... which helps... still, cutesy stamps like TGF and CC designs have to be purchased online for me... hmmm, do you think hubby would let me open my own craft store???? LOL, maybe NOT! then he would never see me!
okay, only 2 more days of school for DD#1 and then it's a summer stretch... but today, DD#2 and i are going to visit my boss' from my previous job and then i need to pick up some baking supplies (mmm, yum!) and i really want to get Dear John that just came out today... and last but not least, i am DETERMINED to get crafty today... tired or not! so, thanks so much for visiting me today and all my other ramblings this week... if i don't bring anything crafty to you today, be sure to come back tomorrow for my DT postings... so until later, have a FABULOUS day!!! Lots of hugs to you!!!

Friends, a RAK and a Win!
as some of you may have known, the DH and i took a day trip to Oahu for a doctor's appt. and we couldn't just go for that... of course we hoped to meet some friends and do a little shopping before coming back home... and yes, we did!! Friday was such a busy day... because we had to go to my appt., we missed DD#1's May Day program, which made me a sad... but we kept in contact with family that went in our place to make sure they had a chance to video tape it... the day before the program, DD#1 entered the artificial lei contest... thinking of what to give her as supplies, i used yarn to make pompoms and gave her a bag of beads... and this is what she created for her entry...
she was so proud of her lei... she said "Mommy, i made a pattern! i used one pompom and 5 beads and then did it again!!" *smiles* it turned out wonderful and well made... all the leis were displayed on the day of the program and we received a call that DD#1 placed 2nd in her division!!! WOW!! we are so PROUD of you sweetie!! it is the 2nd year that she placed in the top 3... last year she took 2nd too... just knowing that she won something makes her smile with pride... i couldn't get a picture of last year's entry... one of her classmates pulled the lei and the whole thing broke... poor girl came home crying! so this year i used dental floss to be sure it would hold....
so onto my trip to Oahu for the day... we took the first 2 flights to Oahu (yep, i was so tired, and hubby couldn't get onto the same flight as me, so he took the first on at 6am... i finally reached around 7am then we headed to get the rental car and off to my appt. the echo with the specialist lasted about an hour and half and from there it was smooth sailing to do whatever we wanted... we headed to Mililani and because it was too early to go shopping, we had some breakfast at Zippy's in Mililani Town Center... LOL, of all places to eat he chose Zippy's... i laugh because we have one here... hehe! by the time we were done, the mall was just opening up... the whole reason i wanted to go there was to check out Munchkins (a craft store there)... and i'm so glad i did! i got to meet Cyn, owner of Munchkins, who was so nice.... it was my first time there and it was nice to see the different products she had and so forth... i did pick up some new stamps and goodies that i can't wait to start playing with... and then by chance, we bumped into Shirley of Stampin for the Fun of it, there too!! i met Shirley through the blog world and we've communicated through email and RAKs and the like, but this time i got to meet her in person!! it was FABULOUS to meet these wonderful ladies, and i'm hoping we can get together again soon!!
did some small shopping at another mall and then it was off to check out J's knickknacks in Honolulu.... and guess who i met there?!?!
Cheryl of Life is Sweet!!!!! i met Cheryl last year in blogland and we chatted through cyberspace too... i emailed her before out trip to say i wanted to check out J's and hoped she'd be there... and she was!!! hubby and i got to meet her and her wonderful hubby Cliff!!! they are the sweetest... of course i couldn't leave without browsing the store and picking up a few things... went on a little spree since i can't get a lot of crafting stuff here... Thanks Cheryl and Cliff for letting me browse!!! hehe! oh and hubby too!!

Awards Ceremony
on Monday, DD#1's school had their last awards ceremony... this includes the surfer (student) of the month and positive action awards... DD#1 was up for the Positive Action Award... i thought it was a monthly thing but when we went to the awards, we found out she was awarded the overall positive action student award for her class for the whole year!!! WOW-WEE!! we are so PROUD of her...
it made her smile!!!!

Flower Power FBW!
here's my creation for a little inspiration... Heidi among the flowers, a C C Design, was perfect to use for this challenge... and i also found some colorful DP to use with this card... the fence punch was too cute not to use with this image... i punched some flowers and added it around along with some tiny yellow butterflies....
wanna play along?! head on over to the FBW blog and get all the info you need to play with this challenge... check out the rest of the team and see their inspirations (links are on my sidebar) and then go back to the FBW blog and leave a direct link to your creation with In Linkz...

Birthday Piecing...
playing along with LLWC #38 - Anything Goes challenge by DT Kim, here's what i came up with...
i love paper piecing and i haven't done much lately... but after doing a paper piecing creation last week for a DT card, i thought i'd do it again on this lovely Birthday Lala for this challenge... her dress and present is paper pieced using the familiar DP on this card... i even tried sparkle spritz for the first time on the flower... =D Love the stuff!! she looks great ready to wish someone a veryhappy birthday... and the present looks so realistic with the paper pieced DP... i think this is such a subtle, clean and simple card... don't you?!
join me a bit later for some birthday cake pix and a pair of kittens.... Thanks for stopping by today!! May you have a WONDEROUS day!!!

a special Mother's Day gift!!
after this it's hunting for the perfect plumerias (i think i'll just go get some from my old HS, perks when you have a family member working there =D), then putting the flowers together for a hair piece... breakfast with the family, then off to the photo studio for DD#1's hula halau pictures... and little play time in between and then an afternoon full of play at our annual Maui Matsuri gathering... what's Maui Matsuri you ask??? it's a Japanese/Okinawan celebration where the island of Maui honors all things Japanese... down to japanese and okinawan inspired food dishes, crafts, entertainment, the whole works... and the girls ar excited to get a visit from Hello Kitty... =D i think mommy is too... LOL...
so before i begin my day, i just wanted to share with you a very special gift from DD#1...
this is what she made in school for Mother's Day!!! a personalized mug, picture magnet and a card!! so sweet and precious!!! the magnet was actually wrapped up in tissue paper and tucked into the pot of the plant... isn't it just the most priceless and precious gift to receive?? she made me cry!!
i hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!! and i'll try and be back later to show you another creation... see you then!!

Another Sweet Birthday Card!
and then i got hit with another obstacle and i need to fly over to Oahu for a fetal echo... so in the midst of all else, i've been trying to schedule flights for myself and the DH... thankfully all is confirmed and we'll be flying over next Fridayfor the day... the really sad thing about it, i'll be missing DD#1's May Day program AGAIN! for the 2nd year in a row.... this is when i say, "why me?!" i hope she understands that the Dr.'s need to check on her baby brother and that she'll forgive me for it... these are the times i feel like a yucky mother.... =(
alright, enough with the sadness... this is the 2nd card i made for DD#1 in celebration of her birthday!!
based on a few challenges, i created this cutie... i used Flutter Anya from TGF because she is just so CUTE! i love the color combo and the little sparkle in her wings... i even embossed the yellow strip, can't really tell from the photo though... a few rhinestones and dew drops... hope she likes it!! here's the challenges i used for my card:
1. Club Anya & Friends - Saturday Sketch
2. Roses on Paper #37 - Color challenge ~ Pink, Orange and Yellow
3. Anyone for Anya - Luck Numbers
well, it's off to do some errands and hopefully have a little playtime in the craftroom... Thanks for visiting today and hope you'll come back soon... Muah!

got to use another Sweet Pea Stamp - Ching-Chou Kuik's masked fairy in green.... guess i really stuck to her name huh?! hehe! i didn't master my coloring skills on these stamps but i did try again... they are certainly gorgeous to color, but wow, i need to practice keeping it in line... i just flipped the sketch to fit my image and colors and voila! isn't this image just mystical?!

Birthday cake for you!
so i'm getting back into playing some challenges... it's nice to create and play along... keeps me busy during down time and it's replinishing my stock.... so the card i have for you today is for a color challenge at La-La Land.... LLWWC #37....
oh, i was really stumped trying to match the colors to the ones on the challenge... but i think i got pretty close to it... DD#2 insisted i use Birthday Maya... or in her words "Moo, Mom, Moo!" and since DD#1's birthday is coming up on Sunday, i figured i make this card for her from her little sister! i absolutely LOVE Maya in all her greatness, so this was a fun image to color... even though i colored a few images before choosing one that i actually liked the colors with...
it's Monday and DD#1 is off at school and it's just me and my lil' #2... so we're off to play in the craft room and finish up some laundry in between... and then whatever else we have to do... it's merely a day of rest and play today, and we're looking forward to it... i'll be back later to share more... Have a fantastic day!!

April OCS for a "fairy" sweet friend!
just a quick little post today to share the card i made for my April OCS partner Denise!! i know she LOVES Tinkerbell so i used Tink from TGF along with her other fairy friends....
was really stumped on how to use up all these darling fairies... after a long while of thinking, i decided to make a staircase card to feature these lovelies... there was an added theme to April's OCS and that was to add flowers, so i added a few... hope Denise liked her card!!
off to do some chores... DD#1 is on furlough today and spending part of the day with my ILs... DD#2 and i got laundry to do and a few pick me ups here and there... then i hope to sneak in some craft time!! ta-ta for now!!

Happy Anniversary Darling!!
Today is another very special day in my life... May 6, 2001 is when the hubby and i started dating... we made it legal and official on May 6, 2006... so today, we celebrate 9 years of being together... married for 4 years, but together for 9... wow!! ups and downs, rain and shine, we made it through... TOGETHER!! so today's showcase is the anniversary card i made for him...
this is the inside of the card...
i just loved the colors on this new Bo Bunny papers and bought a few sheets at BFC's last ad sale... it was perfect to make a loving and somewhat elegant anniversary card... i used the cake topper Ian and Anya couple from TGF and many flower and foliage punches... lots of layering and rhinestones... also entered this into the CA&F Wild Card Wednesday - May Flowers challenge happening over on the blog now...
Hubby asked what i wanted for our anniversary and mother's day together... he thought i'd ask for another set of diamonds... LOL... but then i said, "more craft supplies?" hahaha!! he just laughed... well, it could be cheaper than diamonds right?!? keyword is could.... =D
now i need to finish up some Mother's day cards... boy am i busy... and then i have to go through a whole bunch of DD#2's clothes and give some to charity... since we finally know what our next baby will be, it's time we can get rid of things we were saving... Thank you for stopping by today... hope you enjoyed viewing this card... should have a few more to share soon... next card to share will be the one i made for my April OCS partner... See you all soon!! for now... HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO MY DARLING HUSBAND!!! I LOVE YOU!!!!

Flutter by Wednesday #108 is sponosored by MelJen's Designs.... it is an OPEN challenge week, but your creation must include a butterfly, fairy or angel in order to qualify... please leave a direct link to your creation on the InLinkz on the FBW blog before Monday the 10th at midnight MST... again, more details and rules can be found on the FBW blog..."Meljen's Designs is a digital stamp company owned and illustrated by Melissa Jenkins. here's my card for the week... based on the inspiration of Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge #72, this is what i created... More TGF Sharing...
i was MIA yesterday because it was Grandma's birthday and i had a few errands to do like bake n make my chocolate trifle dessert for the staff at my old HS, phone calls regarding my parting of the company, paperwork for DD#1's upcoming school year and last minute preps for a small gathering in honor of Grandma!! and today is my day to craft away.... YAY!!!! but not until i share with you the last of my cards i made for the TGF Cares Card Drive and a sneak peek of what DD#1's classmates did...
here are 2 cards made by the little hands of DD#1's 1st grade classmates... i stamped Amelia and Oliver images for them to color up and gave them a bunch of scrap DP and embellies to get creative... and my oh my, what cuteness these kiddies have... i'll share the rest another day...
these are the last of the cards i made... all boy images... remember i said i didn't have as much as girly cards?!? yes, so i quickly made these... really got to use up some scraps lying around but it didn't even put a dent into my pile... today, i'm going to attempt to try myself at some challenges i surely have missed playing along with since my mojo left a few months ago... i'm feeling almost 100% better with a bit more energy now that i can sleep an extra hour during the weekdays and not having to wake up at 5 in the AM to make sure everything is ready for school and work days... plus, i can take a short nap during the day with DD#2, which has been making a difference... wow, i'm actually getting sleep these days... LOL...
alright friends!! Thank you ever so kindly for your continuos support here on my blog and for the visits and comments you all leave... i really appreciate the amount of joy you share with me and i love to bring you inspirations as they come to me... so now, off to the craft room!!!

i actually stopped at 14 cards... but that was until i started packing them up to send out... then, i realized i only had 3 boy cards to send.... so that gave me a push to make just a few more... so all in all, i ended up sending 20 cards made by me to a fantastic cause!! i hope it will put an extra smile on someone's face... i wasn't in it for the prize over at TGF, it was a fantastic contest that i thought could make a difference in someone elses life... don't get me wrong, the prize is fabulous and i've mentioned to you all time and time again to enter and join in... but it's okay if i don't place anything, for me, the biggest reward is knowing the cards will be used for something special... and i am ready to participate in another card drive if they have one... i supported the card drive so much, that i even asked my DD#1's 1st grade class to participate... and as a shocker, the teacher was okay with that... =D so i'll share their cards later... for today, i'll leave you with a few of the last cards i made... won't show them all... don't want to bore you with a long post... so i'll save the rest for maybe tomorrow... here we go!
