A very FUN day with Joy!

Happy Hump Day!!! yes, i'm still under the weather... can't seem to kick this cold fast enough... i'm still feeling a little blah blah and hope that it GOES AWAY soon!! =) atleast i can still smile... hehehe! i am glad that the cold waited to visit me after this past saturday or else i wouldn't have been able to enjoy my small time with Joy and everyone at BFC... see!!
Joy, i can now post this on my wall and tell everyone i know a local celebrity!! hehehe!

anyway, so i atleast see Joy once sometimes twice a year, whenever she can come and visit Maui for the BFC Craft Fairs... this year i've gotten to see her twice so far... but it seems every time we get to see each other we are super busy with our craft things that we can't get a picture together or just simply forget to.... this time we got a chance to do just that! as mentioned before, i had the privilege of helping BFC Kahului celebrate their 60th Anniversary here with a make n' take and demo and i was luckily enough to have my table next to Joy's... we both were super busy with our crafts but at the end of the day we were able to take this pix together!! i had so much fun, got to chat with Joy before the day started and met some awesome customers of BFC who stopped by my table to do my make n take and watch my demo... time flies by so fast when you're having fun and before i knew it Joy was heading home! Hope you had a safe trip back Joy!!!

look at this CUTE bag i got from Joy!! yummmmy cupcakes, i love cupcakes!!! inside was a GREAT and yummy surprise too!! sorry no pix, i've been nibbling on the sweet treat and i think i have a few left... =D it was sooo ono!! yum-yum Cookie Corner Nibblers!! Thank you Joy for the goodies!! i have to hide this bag from my kiddies, they've got their eyes on this...

a big MAHALO for a big SURPRISE!!

Happy Thursday peeps!!! i'm on the slow boat today as i was up til 430am crafting and then awoke again at 8am... ooooh, someone want to send me some strong coffee... i feel like i'm hangin' and i didn't even take the drink... LOL... funny words of expression huh?!

so i know i said i would share my other Island Paperie card, but i'm gonna save that for tomorrow because i have a FABULOUS SURPRISE RAK to share with you...

funny story actually.... Joy of the Joy of Crafting did this awesome make over project that she posted to her blog on Tuesday... this project among some of her other fabulous recycled creations was using a 2 liter soda bottle that she used for packaging/boxing... what is that right?! just wait... this project is SO COOL and topped other recycled projects in my eyes... who would have thought to do something like that... and to make it even more exciting, she mailed it... anyway, yesterday, hubby went to get the mail and said the mailman was sorta smiling and giggling when putting the mail in our box... he didn't know why until he went to get the mail and saw this....
hubby came in the house and said "what is this?".... i can't even explain my bright eyed, ear to ear smile i had on my face when he brought it to me.... i was so shocked to see it come to my house!! WOWZERS!!! MAHALO plenty Joy for the fantastic surprise RAK!!! it is SO SO COOL i didn't even open it yet.... i'm still in awe with how fabulous it is to see it in real life... it's really different when looking at it through pictures and then seeing and touching the creation... i really like the unique-ness of the packaging.... very creative!! wanna see how Joy stuffed this bottle up?? take this link >here< to check out her post.... i'm telling you, it's so cool!

ok, so whoever left comments on her post that day was pretty much in awe that the postal service would actually deliver something like this right?! well, here's proof that they do!!!! cool yah?! it reminds me of those big balloons that florists and such stuffed bears and goodies into... except i don't think those could go postal... it's just an awesome way to recycle and be unique in gift giving... i LOVE it!

Happiness!!!

Thanks for all the sweet comments on yesterday's post friends!! my mother's day was good because i was with my kiddies.... even though they drive me crazy, i LOVE them bunches!!! my little vacay on the other hand, in general, wasn't too good but i do have some highlights of my trip that really made the bad moments MUCH BETTER! so i have some sharings today on some wonderful RAKs i've received from some special people dear to me who turned my frowns upside down... lengthy post so beware....

for starters i got to meet up with the dolls, Linda and Joy for some shopping!! wish our time together could have been a little longer, but the weekend was crazy enough on timing for all of us! we had some laughs and actually stood in line and fought the crowd at Bath and Body!! it was the opening week and just filled with people waiting to get in... Wow, that was crazy! not to mention the store itself was crowded... some parts of the store people were packed like sardines.... oh and if you bump into people, even on accident, they give you the stink eye.... LOL... so thankful i had Tae helping me grab things i wanted... she was tiny enough to slip through people and snag some goodies... Thanks Tae! walked around a bit and caught up with each other, not something we can always do being on different islands... the time together was indeed wonderful and i already miss them... i think i have to plan another trip to visit soon!! so as always in local tradition we greet each other with omiyage (gifts) and this is what these FABULOUS girls surprised me with....
this one here is from Linda! look at that CUTE bag... in my FAVE color too!! it's so cute and i'm so sad it got a little smashed on the trip home.... but i still love it!! even that cute tag she made to attach to the bag... totally SWEET!!! i am aware that it says Happy Birthday, it is a belated birthday gift... who said you couldn't celebrate your birthday on another day?!? hehe!
look what was inside!! i can't wait to play with it... in the white envelope is tape for the dispenser and wrapped up in that little tupperware container is more tape... Thank you so much Linda for thinking of me! how you know i needed one?!? LOL... this will work great for me when i'm producing a lot of creations... Thank you again!!

this one is from Joy and Taelyn!! isn't it beautiful?!? i just love the flower (and might have to own this die)!! the box is pretty big and can be stuffed with all kinds of goodies... the sentiment is very beautiful too and touching....

and this was stuffed inside my box... YUMMIES!! THANK YOU Joy and Taelyn for thinking about me... i'm stashing the yummies for a sugar rush!!

getting together with these dolls was one major happy part of my trip... THANK YOU sistahs for a FABULOUS time... wish the other dolls were available to get together too, but it was mother's day weekend and everyone had different plans... next time sistahs!

i managed to hit a craft store (J's) to try and do some supply shopping, but time was limited again and i couldn't really browse like i normally do... so it was a quick look and just grab sort of shopping... and it was packed with customers so it was one sweep through the store instead of my normal walk around the store twice or more, LOL... here's some goodies i found and bought... oh and because it was coupon weekend at BF, i had to find some time to stop at a BF there... got to check out the Market City BF and make good use of my 40% off coupon... and these are the goodies i got there....

added another set of HK stamps to my collection, some ribbon, a pack of flowers that i missed out on getting at the store here, candy stick bags and my very 1st stamping bella stamp! hehe, i had an extra coupon so i asked the hubs to get me the HK stamps and i used my coupon on the stamping bella...

guess another good part of the trip was some shopping... that's always a plus right?! just very hard with time limits... kids got to find some goodies too, which is good since a lot that we found can't be bought at home... checked out Party City and started picking up decorations for my son's 1st birthday... there was another craft store i wanted to check out but didn't have time to do so... oh well, next time... and another major part of my trip was visiting with family... some i haven't seen in like 7 years... but there were also moments of stress and negativity that really mad me frown and feel sad on this trip... BUT, when i got home and checked my mail, i received something from a sweet and thoughtful friend that changed my mood for the remainder of the night! look...
Sweet, sweet Brenda sent this to me for Mother's Day!! she is always so thoughtful and giving and really brightned the rest of my night... isn't her punch art beautiful?!? check out her blog, she has a tutorial on how to make this bird of paradise! sentiment has some serious meaning too when you think about life in general....inside was a mini card she made and more YUMMIES for my sugar rush!! hehe! oh yah, i'm going to be full of sweetness with this and Joy's goddies... THANK YOU Brenda for the wonderful surprise gift, for making me smile after a bad day and for thinking of me!!!

This and That...

Hiya!! I was suppose to post about this creations on Sunday, but opted to break over the weekend to 'try' and rest... quote, try, of course it didn't happen... i'm feeling pretty good gaining control on blogging life again and decided that i needed to "make" time to keep up with my blog... it makes me extremely happy to be sharing more often and stopping by to see what everyone is up to... and i've even sneaked in some time to play along with challenges, which i MISS oh so much! with that said, here's a card i made for TGF's FFCB Mystery Mondays CASE-ing Markie's Mom....
i was so surprised and jumping with excitemet to have found out that this card was randomly picked as the winner for that challenge!! WOW-WEE!! Totally made my day!!

Madelyn is my FAVE from the TGF Twinkle Tots line... she's adorable with a bit of sass and total CUTENESS... i CASEd the layout on Markie's Mom's card and see the beautiful crochete flower??? that was made by Kim! Thanks Kim, i finally found the perfect card to use the flower on!! All the DP is a new line that i picked up over the weekend at BF, i can't remember the company but the line is called April's Showers... so pretty for spring themed creations... i'm getting a little better with blending my copics and the more i practice the more satisfied i am with the color results... what do you think about this one?
over the weekend i got a FANTABULOUS surprise RAK from my GF Brenda! Lookie at what she sent for Easter!! i'm sure you've spied these cutie baskets on her blog already, but i'm sharing it again... Thank you Brenda for the CUTE basket and all the yum yums inside... it's my sugar stash for late nights! hehe! Brenda's a pro at whipping up these Cricut Critters...
and last but not least... my lil' monkey wanted to say HI! he's all tickled in laughter... hmmmm, i wonder why?!

ok, time to try and get creative again... i have 2 weeks before the last craft fair... still haven't taken inventory, still unsure of what creations need more of... i think my mojo took a break over the weekend too... trouble is, i think it's still on break! might have to fire that one and find a replacement!! Happy Hump Day!!! wow, is it really Wednesday already?! Jenny, i'm not making any offenses on my nick name for you, but you really do make FABULOUS calenders!! ;D anywho, she sent me this bunch of goodies for my bday with that CUTE CUTE CUTE monkey card!! i forgot to take a pix of the inside which was creatively done, but please check out her blog for a peek! Thank you Jenny for the surprise of goodies, so SWEET of you!! my dear friend, Joy U. sent these great yummies for my bday... LOVE the CC Designs stamp (i have to put that on my list to use, hehe) along with the pretty paper pack and BEAUTIFUL bday card!! Love the sweet Belles 'n Whistles image and the hanging charm on the card!! Joy was one of the first girls i've actually got to meet in person after starting my blog and since then the friendship keeps going strong! Thank you Joy and Taelyn for the yummy yummies!!! next up is from my partner in crime, Kim Y.... hehe, jus' kidding Kim! but she is my partner in crime, with our Lollipop Crafts Challenge blog... she sent this bday gift filled with fabulous things... beautiful flowers, leaves, rhinestones, ribbon and that ADORABLE card!!! i just LOVE the monochromatic colors!! Thank you bunches Kim, i can't wait to use these goodies! 1LuvnMama out did herself with this AMAZING bday card! my fave color(s)... the earth tone with the blue is just, WOW! i love the border edges she used and the way she popped the flowers... with this card came these awesome supplies!! oh oh oh, can't wait to use them... Thank you Mama, for thinking of me and sending a fantastic bday gift!! i actually got to meet Mama in person too... she was one of a few wonderful friends that came to visit me and the lil' man in our battle of survival... Thanks for that too Mama!! Karen sent this RAK to me for a March swap.... new papers to play with and these AWESOME hanafuda magetic pin holders... the holders are great for me to pin up important notes to my filing cabinet... and she made this WONDERFUL card... ugh, the pix didn't really capture the embossing, but she used a embossing folder from SU! and added rhinestones to the middles... simple and very elegant... Thank you so much Karen for all of the goodies!! (i did order that embossing folder, hehe).... and this bunch of sweetness is from a local sister in heart, Colleen! the card on the right along with the sweet treats in the middle was a RAK for Vday... and the card on the left that i ADORE (yes, because of the monkeys) is my bday card... wondeful, wonderful gifts... oh, i don't have a pix but she sent me my bday present waaaaaaay before my bday.... and that was a HUGE surprise... Thank you my dear Colleen for my CINCH!!! i'm loving it, even though i haven't used it much i am planning to for mother's day gifts!!

i am very fortunate to have ALL of these ladies in my life... their surprises, friendship, love and endless support holds a place in my heart... they all play important parts of who i am as a crafter, as a person, as a mother and as a friend... THANK YOU ALL OF YOU!!! Please check out their blogs and give them some LOVE... their creations are FANTASTIC and will never disappoint you... hey, you just might learn something from them.... =D

RAKs, BRAKs, and just because....

Oh my YONKERS!!! this was suppose to go up on Friday, but of course when i thought i was up on top, i fell right back down again!! things are better in my hood, and it should be smooth sailing from here... or atleast i hope! haha!

Well, Happy Sunday Friends!! Hope you all are enjoying the weekend... and for those of you on spring break, wow, it's the last day already... how time is flying right past us huh.... i got some goodies to share with you from my bday and just because... pictures are smaller than normal , but you can always click it to enlarge... so let's get going... and be warned, it's a long post...

This one here is a sister swap from Karen... I partnered with her last month and she sent me this beautiful card that she made and this cute little HK magnetic pin holder! Love it both and i was able to case the pin holder, without the HK though.... Thank you Karen for the beautiful card and lovely HK! visit her blog for more of her wonderful creations...
Also, she surprised me with this RAK too... it came after our swap as a "thank you"... cute sushi embellie stickers and pretty die cuts! Thank you again Karen for the wonderful goodies! isn't this just the cutest?? this little kitty was given to me by my kiddies for my bday.... and tucked around his neck is a beautiful birthstone pendant!! Lovely! DD1 chose the necklace and DD2 chose the kitty! so much meaning behind this gift! i LOVE my kiddies!!!!
i wouldn't normally do this, cause i hate my feet, LOL, but i had to show you one of the gifts from my hubby!! he sent me with my bestie to have pedis on my bday... and as a present from my nail tech, she blinged out all of my toes... LOL... might not be able to see it but she added rhinestones to every toe and gave it a little deco... her work is fantastic!! this isn't the only thing hubby gave me.... he also purchased my copic refills and some other knick-knacks and took me to an "ONO" dinner at Outback!! Thank you hubby for a wonderful day!
the pix above and below is a BRAK from the talented Brenda.... who is the punch queen and now i have to say Cricut queen! she sent a bunch of goodies, that i admit, i'll probably hoard, LOL... all the cutie critters and the sand castle card in the middle was made with her cricut... too cute right?! and the 2 build-a-bear goodies was made using her BAB dies... the bumble bee themed creation is a photo album and the other one is a notepad... yah i'll more than likely leave it in it's plastic bag and use for display only! hehe! Sharing the LOVE!

Hiya there!! you know, i didn't share with you all the gorgeous cards Keenan and I received from such awesome friends.... so i'm taking the time to share them with you now.... not to overwhelm you with too much pictures, i photographed a few at a time... click on the image to view a bigger picture.... hope you enjoy them as much as we do...

aren't they just super CUTE!!! i have them all stored away in his baby album... want to preserve it as much as possible... a few of these lovely ladies also sent handmade gifts... and i apologize i didn't get a chance to take pictures of them... but among some there were cute little handstamped onesies and burp cloth, a decorative baby carriage, a cute cute lil' big foot named Holden and a door hanger.... then there were lots of clothes and toys and some other baby items! we LOVE them all!!! Thank you ladies for the shower of love!! We cherish all that you have sent to us!!!

Well.... time to get moving on some house chores and maybe some crafting too... i really have to find room to put a playpen in my craft room!!! Be back soon! hugs!!

Meets and treats and in betweens...

Tuesday Morning Laziness!!! yep, that's me.... LOL.... Holy moly, my weekend went by so fast... lots of running around and prepping, not much sleep, last minute happenings, celebration and then back to school!! phew, i'm surprised i didn't already collapse... hehe.... but i did enjoy the weekend!!!

Finally got to meet a good friend that i met a year ago when i first initiated my blogging adventures.... She and her family came to visit Hawaii from California this summer and we had the pleasure of spending some time together.... Thank you so much Colleen for visiting with us!!! Here's a pix of my family and Colleen's family on our Maui Ocean Center adventure on Saturday...

Colleen and I at the end of touring the ocean center.... can't really see my big belly... hehe.... this part of the island was a little windy, although the sun was out, i was in good comfort with the breeze...

Colleen surprised me with this RAK.... she knew how much i LOVED the embossing folder she used on one of her cards that she sent to me and got me my own!!! i was SO excited and happy!!! and i can't wait to create with it... look at that beautiful flower she made too... and that card is so adorable! Thank you VERY much Colleen!!!

My baby shower was on Sunday and for some reason my camera went missing that day... so i have NO pictures of that to share with you... =( i have to see what pictures my sister took and try and get some from her.... but all in all, even without the camera, we had lots of fun among good company.... everyone had thrills playing the clothespin game... remember those clothespins that i tied ribbon to?! anyway, everyone had a clothespin and the secret word was "baby"... so if anyone heard you say the word, they could steal your pins.... oh my did we have good laughs with that one since here in Hawaii, we call almost all the kids baby... my oldest DD had the most pins at the end of the game... a total of 8 she was able to snatch... fun, fun, fun! Food was yummy and family and friends made it extra special... we were showered with lots of loving gifts, but the most special was just having everyone there....

Yesterday marked the first day back to school for my DD#1!! and i made an effort no matter how tired i was or how wobbly i walk to take her to her first day of 2nd grade... i think she was ecstatic about that as well! She said her teacher is really nice and that she thinks she'll enjoy the new school year... i hope she does too.... school really matters... among all the exhaustion i still had to clean up my big mess from opening presents and go through the gifts and make a list of things we still need... mission accomplished and now it's just picking up the last necessities we don't have and prepping for baby to arrive... i'm pushing my self to get into nesting mode... last night ended with a nice dinner with Colleen and her family before they leave Maui today... only one missig was my dear hubby who is off island again for work... but it was nice to spend one last time with the Kwan family... Thank you very much for dinner Colleen and Benson!!!

Now that most of my stress is relieved, i hope to find more time in the craft room.... with only my baby (ok, she's not a baby but a toddler) home with me i think i can manage keeping up with the house and having some me time too... there's so much i want to do.... just not enough time in a day... but wow... i think i've shared a lot with you and should be letting you go now.... eek!! sorry, i can go on and on... haha!

Friends, a RAK and a Win!

Wow, was my weekend a whirl wind!! i hope you all had a fantabulous weekend!! i sure did... finally found some time this morning to load so pixs and now i'm ready to share them with you... bare with me, there's a lot to share today... hehe!

as some of you may have known, the DH and i took a day trip to Oahu for a doctor's appt. and we couldn't just go for that... of course we hoped to meet some friends and do a little shopping before coming back home... and yes, we did!! Friday was such a busy day... because we had to go to my appt., we missed DD#1's May Day program, which made me a sad... but we kept in contact with family that went in our place to make sure they had a chance to video tape it... the day before the program, DD#1 entered the artificial lei contest... thinking of what to give her as supplies, i used yarn to make pompoms and gave her a bag of beads... and this is what she created for her entry...
she was so proud of her lei... she said "Mommy, i made a pattern! i used one pompom and 5 beads and then did it again!!" *smiles* it turned out wonderful and well made... all the leis were displayed on the day of the program and we received a call that DD#1 placed 2nd in her division!!! WOW!! we are so PROUD of you sweetie!! it is the 2nd year that she placed in the top 3... last year she took 2nd too... just knowing that she won something makes her smile with pride... i couldn't get a picture of last year's entry... one of her classmates pulled the lei and the whole thing broke... poor girl came home crying! so this year i used dental floss to be sure it would hold....

so onto my trip to Oahu for the day... we took the first 2 flights to Oahu (yep, i was so tired, and hubby couldn't get onto the same flight as me, so he took the first on at 6am... i finally reached around 7am then we headed to get the rental car and off to my appt. the echo with the specialist lasted about an hour and half and from there it was smooth sailing to do whatever we wanted... we headed to Mililani and because it was too early to go shopping, we had some breakfast at Zippy's in Mililani Town Center... LOL, of all places to eat he chose Zippy's... i laugh because we have one here... hehe! by the time we were done, the mall was just opening up... the whole reason i wanted to go there was to check out Munchkins (a craft store there)... and i'm so glad i did! i got to meet Cyn, owner of Munchkins, who was so nice.... it was my first time there and it was nice to see the different products she had and so forth... i did pick up some new stamps and goodies that i can't wait to start playing with... and then by chance, we bumped into Shirley of Stampin for the Fun of it, there too!! i met Shirley through the blog world and we've communicated through email and RAKs and the like, but this time i got to meet her in person!! it was FABULOUS to meet these wonderful ladies, and i'm hoping we can get together again soon!!

did some small shopping at another mall and then it was off to check out J's knickknacks in Honolulu.... and guess who i met there?!?!
Cheryl of Life is Sweet!!!!! i met Cheryl last year in blogland and we chatted through cyberspace too... i emailed her before out trip to say i wanted to check out J's and hoped she'd be there... and she was!!! hubby and i got to meet her and her wonderful hubby Cliff!!! they are the sweetest... of course i couldn't leave without browsing the store and picking up a few things... went on a little spree since i can't get a lot of crafting stuff here... Thanks Cheryl and Cliff for letting me browse!!! hehe! oh and hubby too!!

Cheryl also suprised me with this cute RAK.... isn't this adorable?!? LOVE the color combo and the cute lil' buggy... =D

she also had this in the bag for me to take home... Thank you so much Cheryl!!! for your kindness and friendship!! Hope to meet you again!!!

i was hoping to meet my GFs Joy and Michelle too... but it was a work day and we had a flight back home and they had schedules i didn't want to mess up, so i didn't want to bother them just for a short visit... hope to see these gals in September for their trip to Maui!!!

alright... i think i babbled enough for today... it's back to reality and house chores and what not... hoping to get some craft time today since i didn't all weekend... well, as soon as i clean up the craft room, LOL! so i'll end this post with a little "eye" sweetness!! DD#1's 2n birthday cake from her pool party Saturday... oh, sorry you can't really see the Tinkerbell deco... i take horrible pictures... haha! Have a SWEET day!!!

don't have any crafty projects that i've made for you today, but i do want to share a RAK and the card i received from Teri's February OCS... so let's get going... i have another busy day, but wanted to stop in to say Hi!!

RAK and Joy of Crafting Virtual Guest

Happy EARLY Saturday ya'll!! Sorry i've been MIA the last 2 days... caught a cold last weekend and i've been trying to get rid of it alllllll week! yuck! i finally have my voice back and my throst isn't as sore but i'm still coughing up some yuckies... feel much better though... i think with the weather constantly changing here, hot to cold to hot to cold, it was bound to happen... i put crafting aside since my DT posts so i don't have anything ready to show you... maybe tomorrow...

Oh! so i desperately and hoped so so bad that the DH takes me to see Dear John... the newest Nicholas Sparks novel turned movie... now if you spied my profile, then you know i just LOVE all books by Nicholas... yes, i'm a "freak" fan of his... so we actually had a date planned for tonight (saturday) to watch but i just couldn't wait and kept begging him to take me... =D so he did... and OMGosh! i was tearing in the theater and i didn't care who was looking... come on now, i cried reading the book... LOL, so i just knew i was going to cry watching the movie... if you didn't read the book yet, DON'T!! watch the movie first... you'll be a little disappointed if you already know the story and details...

Look at this beautiful Valentine's day card she sent to me... love how she glittered the edges... and the fabulous coloring she did on Izzy!! one word... GORGEOUS!!

these next bunch of goodies is actually a goodie bag win from the live taping of our local craft show "The Joy of Crafting" hosted by none other than Joy S... i got some luck and was chosen as one of the neighbor island virtual guests... meaning, i'm not actually at the live taping because i'm not on that island, but i was randomly chosen to receive a goodie bag and have my name mentioned on the show... how FABULOUS is that?! and oh my!! I even got a VIP pass with my name on it... Woohooo! So this is my bunch of goodies from the different sponsors of that special taping... it was taped on January 9th and will air next month.... my family and I had the pleasure of meeting Joy in person over the holidays... She's so lovable and fun... and DD#1 just LOVES her.... Thanks Joy for sending over all these goodies!! can't wait to play play play...

Ah! and she even sneaked in something for the girls!!! HK round tins... we didn't open them yet... it's so pretty i don't want them to open it... but by tomorrow, the packaging will be ripped... =D Thank you Aunty Joy for the goodies!!! DD#1 can't wait until you come again... she keeps asking what you'll make next!! hehe!

Oh my! i sure hope you all stuck with me until the end... that's what happens when i'm deprived of keeping up with my blog... i just have so much to share... LOL... i think i'm getting back in to the sway of things again... now that i'm almost 100% over this cold, i feel up to crafting again... i really miss you all and hope to bring you some creations soon!
