a big MAHALO for a big SURPRISE!!

Happy Thursday peeps!!! i'm on the slow boat today as i was up til 430am crafting and then awoke again at 8am... ooooh, someone want to send me some strong coffee... i feel like i'm hangin' and i didn't even take the drink... LOL... funny words of expression huh?!

so i know i said i would share my other Island Paperie card, but i'm gonna save that for tomorrow because i have a FABULOUS SURPRISE RAK to share with you...

funny story actually.... Joy of the Joy of Crafting did this awesome make over project that she posted to her blog on Tuesday... this project among some of her other fabulous recycled creations was using a 2 liter soda bottle that she used for packaging/boxing... what is that right?! just wait... this project is SO COOL and topped other recycled projects in my eyes... who would have thought to do something like that... and to make it even more exciting, she mailed it... anyway, yesterday, hubby went to get the mail and said the mailman was sorta smiling and giggling when putting the mail in our box... he didn't know why until he went to get the mail and saw this....
hubby came in the house and said "what is this?".... i can't even explain my bright eyed, ear to ear smile i had on my face when he brought it to me.... i was so shocked to see it come to my house!! WOWZERS!!! MAHALO plenty Joy for the fantastic surprise RAK!!! it is SO SO COOL i didn't even open it yet.... i'm still in awe with how fabulous it is to see it in real life... it's really different when looking at it through pictures and then seeing and touching the creation... i really like the unique-ness of the packaging.... very creative!! wanna see how Joy stuffed this bottle up?? take this link >here< to check out her post.... i'm telling you, it's so cool!

ok, so whoever left comments on her post that day was pretty much in awe that the postal service would actually deliver something like this right?! well, here's proof that they do!!!! cool yah?! it reminds me of those big balloons that florists and such stuffed bears and goodies into... except i don't think those could go postal... it's just an awesome way to recycle and be unique in gift giving... i LOVE it!

THANK YOU again Joy for brightening my day with this EVER SO crafty surprise RAK!!! =D

okie dokie.... i'm still dragging a bit from lack of sleep but mommy duties call.... come back tomorrow for my IP creation... and thanks for spending a few minutes with me... hugs!!!

Funky Princess

stopping in for a Royal share... =D i've been playing along with all the fun challenges at TGF for the Royalty contest and almost didn't play along with the last week... merely because i was stumped and my mojo seemed to take an unepexcted vacay... LOL... i think it's back though... haha!

anyway, i pushed myself to the very last minute to play along with Week 4 - the 4C's... what is that you ask??? 4Cs as in crown, castle, carriage, and carats... it was a challenge trying to use all of it on one card (you were required to use atleast one) and during one of my moments talking to myself the hub says "how hard can it be to add all of that onto your card?" well mind you dear hubby, it is very hard if you are trying to make it look right and not just slap all of that together... LOL... oh i wanted to dare him to participate so bad! of course i didn't... my craft supplies are kapu (sacred) to me... hehe!

after much 'waste' of some supplies because it didn't go together, or didn't look right, or i changed my mind many times (thanks mr. mojo) here is what i came up with...
Creeper Tuesday here has a funky twist to being a princess... she's very outspoken and doesn't care if she has a sassy face on, the sentiment from CC Designs says it all... =D she brings the spunk to being royal, hehe! being tempted to do her up in pink, i went with purples as my main color on her WITH added pink, yep... the papers are all from the new The Yellow Bicycle tiny princess line... papers are SO cute... finally used my fleur border punch by EK too... and the carriage is a saved rub on i had stashed away... so let's see, i've got a crown (part of the image), a castle (part of the DP) and a carriage (rub on)... last but not least, carats (rhinestones) completes my card... you'll find it on her crown and on the layout... since i didn't get a chance to play along with TGF's FFCB WOW challenge sketch #5 a few weeks ago, i used it for inspiration and guidance to make this card...

sorry for the not so good picture... i had to darken it a little bit as the original picture was really bright.. camera skills are not a thing for me... i'm still learning... haha!

thanks for sharing a part of your day with me... hope you come back and visit again soon! =D

Local flowers....

Yes! i let Monday slide right past me... i was actually on the lazy craft train trying to recover from the weekend... LOL... ok, ok, from posting... hehe... besides, hubby and i did some summer cleaning and took a load of trash to the landfill and a bunch of cans and plastics to recycling... wow what a work out... haha! before we get onto my sharing, just want to let you all know that i'm being CASE-d this week at TGF FFCB for Mystery Monday (YIPPPEE, what an HONOR) so go on over and play along... =D

anyway... i have the greatest privilege to be working with some AWESOME products from a local craft store here on Maui known as Island Paperie... got to meet the owner, who is just the sweetest ever and i love her images (and everything else she has in her store)... while browsing in her store one weekend, she asked what type of crafts i did and so forth and then she asked if i could do up some samples with some of her stamps and products... how could i say NO! i am thrilled to be working with her images/products... and yes, my cards with the Island Paperie images (and some without) can be purchased at her store.... (i just need to fill up her stock, hehe)...
this orchid is from IPs tropical flowers(b) set that i'm currently using... it's a set of 4 flowers (orchid, plumeria, bird of paradise and ohia blossoms).... i didn't have any tropical papers in my stash (can you believe that) so i had to make do with whatever... i was trying to be realistic so i didn't want to mix the image with just any patterned paper... with my first attempt, i went with texture... embossed some white CS, added some raffia, a mahalo sentiment and some bling... and a little bit of glitter in the centers too... i thought it came out a little plain, but it does capture my color scheme and the embossing gives it a nice touch... not bad for a first try (or so i think, hehe)... whatcha think???

i do have one more that i made using another flower from this set, but i'll save that for tomorrow or the next day... i don't want to overload you with reading... hehe... and i'll share a bit more about IP... it's gonna be a busy 2 weeks for me so i'll pop in and post when i can... thanks for stopping by today and i hope you like this creation... a hui ho, until we meet again! MUAH!

Syren's time to shine...

It's Aloha Friday.... nothing to do until Monday... doo do do doo doo... HA! yah if only.... but it is Friday and that means the weekend is finally here!! it seemed like a long week but yet it flew by so fast... just have to enjoy the time while we can...

i've been hoarding Syren from TGF for a few months now and she was ready to break free and shine in time.... so with the help of TGF's FFCB WOW Sketch challenge this week, i was able to make that possible....
my hubs thinks she's kinda scary, but i like to think that she's a model of some sort... you know, those pictures where the models don't really smile?? hehe, overall i think she's fabulous! and a definite FAVE from TGF's creeper line...

had some difficulties using her though... as soon as i inked her i knew the colors i wanted to use and immediately colored her... then my challenge was what papers to use... after digging through my scraps, at least twice, i finally found somethig suitable... the red CS behind the strips is regular CS that i embossed using my tiny bubbles folder... the "fintastic" sentiment is from the Down by the Pond set, also available at TGF... can't tell from the pix, but i blended a few shades of orange... you can barely see the light spots (even IRL) but i like it! and i went a little crazy and embossed her body to make it look like scales... see...
thought it made a cool touch of texture... =D

well happy friday everyone!! i hope you are looking forward to the weekend... i know i am... bbq with the besties for the hubby's bday and some crafting.... always great!! gonna take a posting break for the weekend and be back on Monday for some new sharings... hopefully that gives me time to create, create, CREATE!!

alrighty... time to start off my day... need to go and see what i can snag from the BF sale... hehe! see you all soon!

Sentimental Flutterings....

is it just me or is the days just fluttering past us?!? it seems like we just started a new week and already the weekend is approaching!! my goodness... how do we ever keep up!

happy thursday everyone! was going to post this yesterday but with sign ups and an introduction to a new stamp line, i thought that was good enough for your reading pleasure... so i saved my creation for today...

there is a fun Farm Fresh Friday challenge over at TGF's FFCB which is "Get Sentimental" and after thinking about what to create, i had the perfect pair in mind...
Flutter Anya has also been one of my faves and first stamp purchase from TGF and she was awesomely paired with a sentiment from TGF's Butterfly wishes set... this creation is a bit out of my comfort zone but i had so much fun making it!! i actually like the way it turned out regardless that some of the DP don't quite match... it is all from the same paper pad, but does not necessarily mean they go together... ah you catch my drift right?! did some paper piecing again (i just LOVE this technique) added some baker's twine (though you can barely see it) and distressed ink the edges of the mat... also distressed the DP edges of the main layer, but not with ink... with the DP scraps, i layered butterflies to kind of match Flutter Anya... i do like it!! it has fun colors, a fantastic sentiment and the embellies add a great touch... what do you think?? should i step out side the zone more?? hehe! well, i'll try to now and then... =D

my time is up with all of you for now... hope to bring you another share tomorrow... thanks for dropping in and checking out my card!! come back soon!!

July Secret Sister Swap sign ups...

Hello summer!!! i hope you all are enjoying the summer season... i assume some envy the fact that i'm in Hawaii, but the weather has been off and on lousy, and therefore doesn't make great beach days... it's almost like we are in winter already... passing showers, cold at night, blah, blah... but it does make perfect weather for CRAFTING!! most of the time... when it's nice and cool and a breeze sweeps through...

hmmm.... let's go with a theme for July.... how about FLOWERS.... yup, i'm sure you all can create lots of fantastic things with flowers... flowers can be in your image, on your papers, used as embellies, whatever fits your creations as long as there is a flower(s)...

here's some deets on my swap: *please take note of some changes in red*

1. You can swap anything you think is appropriate. Such as cards, 3d projects, gift tags, altered items, etc. You are not restricted to just a card for each swap... for example, you can do a card this month and gift tags next month, etc... be creative and use your talents! Many of you do not limit yourself to cards, there are some that do awesome jewelry, altered items and so on, so this is the swap to make something special and surprise someone... can't get creative? no problem, you are free to sub in a RAK too!

2. I kindly ask that you please send out your swaps before month's end. Please take into consideration snail mail timing. If you cannot mail your swap before the end of the month, you are given until the 5th day of the following month to do so. This will allow some time for your Secret Sister to receive it. If nothing has been received within 10 days past the end of the month, i will not include you in future sign ups. Please friends, let's play fair. This is a commitment i ask that you follow through with.

sign ups will be open until June 28th... PREVIOUS PLAYERS, just leave a comment on this post so i know you want to play along... NEW PLAYERS, please email me at krisnal5868athotmaildotcom with the subject "Secret Sister Swap" and the following info: FULL NAME, ADDRESS, BLOG URL (if you have one) and BEST EMAIL for contact.

If you cannot commit yourself to this swap, please don't sign up. I believe there is decent time allowed to swap. Remember, you don't have to create anything outrageously fancy, as long as your SS knows it comes from your heart!! I understand things come up that we cannot control, please make contact with me so we can work something out should that happen.

Thank you to all who have made this swap possible, who have shared their talents and creations with others, and for keeping this swap going!!!

Princesses have wishes too....

back here for this Tuesday sharing.... have you been following the royal buzz over at TGF's blog?!? there is a royal contest happening and if time permits, i've been playing along... so far i've done good and have participated in all of the challenges.... fun, fun, fun!! and i like being taken away from some of my other projects...

alrighty, let's get right to it...
Princess Anya has been one of the very first stamps i've purchased after finding and falling in love with TGF and she hasn't seen color in a while... so i called upon her to help me with the royalty contest for week 3 which is a fabulous sketch! i went with soft colors this week and some paper piecing and WOW can you believe NO glitter?! i was tempted but then opted not to... it was fine the way it is... still working on coloring/blending... the more i practice the more i get a feel of the looks i like... basically trial and error... do you likey?!?

keeping it short today... since i've blasted you with lots of words in the last few postings... hehe... thanks for visiting today and hopefully i'll have something finished and ready to share with you tomorrow... a hui ho...

Last TGF Cares cards...

Hello!! well the weekend slipped right past me... i did say i was going to share this last set over the weekend but feeling under the weather and still having to take on our usual weekend schedules i just felt really BLAH! but it does make a good introduction for a new week of sharings!

so, happy Monday all! i do hope the weekend was well for all of you... last day of sharings for TGF's Card for a Cause.... THANK YOU so much for all the SWEET comments on my last post... the girls were ecstatic to have participated and like me, have watched the slide show over and over again! they absolutely LOVE it! i am still very very proud of them, and even if they may not really understand the whole concept behind what we just did or exactly why, they know that they sent their special creations to make someone smile... and well, that's a good enough explanation for me...

alright, it's the beginning of another busy week so let's get on with the cards...
i really like this one too... another of my faves from all that was sent out... did you notice i didn't mat the DP?!? i love matting but i tried this one without and i like it! and i kinda just threw the layout together with the pieces...
i leaned more towards girly cards, simply because it's so much easier to dress up, but i had to make atleast a few for the boys which was a real challenge... My Guy Ian did his job on helping me out...
this one was fun... usings lots of scraps and embossing for texture...
i like the bright cheerful colors on this card.... and i went with a color combo i wouldn't normally use... oh i can't tell you how much times i was thinking of re-doing this one... in the beginning i thought i should have given her different color boots... in the end i stuck to it, and now i see that it's ok... hehe

so, so, so... havent' done too much crafting over the weekend as i opted to rest as much as i could... exhaustion has finally caught up to me... lack of sleep, pressure on deadlines, just about everything, not just relating to crafting... i'm well rested again and ready to take on the next few projects... some big, some small, but on the easier things, i have pairs of loving and helping hands...

thanks again for sticking with me as i share all the cards for TGF's Card for a Cause and i deeply thank you for all the beautiful comments! stop in tomorrow and visit with a Princess... ta-ta for today... have a GREAT week!

TGF Cares Day 3....

and so do some WONDERFUL children....

Happy Aloha Friday Friends!!! i have a very special sharing today... one that just melts my heart and tells me that within 8 years of my life, i've molded something right into my children... i was caught off guard when my daughters asked what i was doing and then asked if they could help too!! the sincerity and kindness in their hearts took me over the top... before we get to that, please stop over TGF's blog today and check out the AWESOME special video that Jess made for this year's TGF Cards for a Cause event... it will have you in tears, but good tears, just to know that the fans around the world care (oh i think it was the song paired with the pictures that got me going)...

anyway, i'm so proud of them and can't thank them enough for seeing that they can make a difference no matter how small or young they are... i was pretty shocked that they made so many, since they are both at that age where they don't really keep their attention to one thing for long... i was expecting them to make one maybe two, but all these, wow! take a look....

the above photos are all the cards my 8 year old daughter created to send to Japan... she originally made 8 cards and then asked if she could make some more... she ended up making a total of 12... some of the cards feature a little writing from her in uplifting more smiles to those that will receive them... one of them said something like "if you need a cheerleader call on me and i will be your cheerleader!" OMGOSH!! i thought it was soooo cute! she made all the cards on her own, all i had to do was stamp the image, print out the inside insert and she did the rest...

these above photos are made by my 3 year old daughter.... now i can tell you this girl had tons of fun making her 11 cards... we do not normally allow her to use scissors or glue, but for this project she insisted that we do because she is now a "big" girl... with a little help from her big sister, she cut all the papers she wanted to use, colored her images and glued them on to her card blanks and decorated them with punched flowers and more... she even practiced writing her name on her inserts!

a funny story about our journey in making these cards before i let you go... so we were in the craft room making the cards and i was explaining a little about why we were making them and where we will be sending it and who will get it and so on... my 8 year old understands but my 3 year old can't help but agree... anyway, i was getting ready to step out the door to take the box to the PO when my 3 year old comes running saying "wait Mommy! i want to go with you to Japan!" LOL... i couldn't help but to smile and laugh... i had to explain to her again that i wasn't going to Japan, but i was taking the box with our cards to the post office to send to Japan... so she says "oh, never mind then, over there is boring!" LOL...

i'll be by tomorrow for the last set of my cards that i've sent... THANK YOU so much for dropping in today and checking out the most beautiful creations EVER... both the product and the meaning behind it touched my heart and made me smile, so i hope it will make someone else smile too... and don't forget to check out TGF's blog for the slide show!! Have a great day and wonderful weekend!!

Day 2 of TGF Cares...

Good morning!!! i'm back again with more cards i've made for TGF's 2nd annual Cards for a Cause drive... thank you so much for the wonderful comments yesterday!! it added an extra smile to my already smiling heart to know that you all enjoyed the cards as much as i enjoyed and had lots of fun making... =D

oh, oh, oh... i'm happy to report that i think i've figured out what i want for my son's 1st birthday... that's all i've been working on yesterday!! ugh and the stress was stressful... LOL... i do think we've decided on one style though, which makes it easier now to go and get supplies... and although i've taken sort of an easy route, i'm pleased with it... come on, give me a break i had to choose easy, i have to produce 100 invites... by the end of the month... can someone scream for me?!? hehe.... i'll give you guys a sneaky peek soon... without anymore delay, here are the cards...
i've been really trying to work on my blending and fading in coloring with copics... the only way to do it is by practicing... so you'll be seeing a lot of that on my creations... this angel Anya card is another fave and one of the first that i've tried to working on blending hair colors... what do you think?? am i making progress???
this one too! i tried to color with feathering on Eric's hair with just black... not bad for my first try, but i still think it's a little rough.... hehe, it's the first time Eric has seen ink too....

mr. Oliver once again.... in some fun colors... loving his color combo...

and cutesy miss Amelia.... oh and i'm not done sharing just yet... stay tuned for the last set of cards for TGF's Cards for a Cause drive....

alright! so, i will have an "ALOHA" Friday sharing for you tomorrow.... one that will top any of my creations and really make you feel the ALOHA.... this is something i dearly treasure close to my heart and just makes me so so so PROUD!! and if you really know me, you know i get emotional very fast, so this one brought the tears.... hehe, i can picture a few of you wondering what it is already.... gonna have to wait my dears... toodles for now, i need some sleep!! be back later to catch up on what i've been missing around blogland...

TGF Cares....

...and so do i! long post.... for a good cause!

Happy midweek everyone!! hope the week has been splendid for you all so far... it's a little crazy on my end, but enjoyable... as all my bigger projects are now complete, i can really take some time to concentrate on the little man's 1st birthday party, which seems to be creeping up with each passing day... and although i don't normally procrastinate this long, i did this time around and i'm a little stressed over it! LOL... so what else is new?!? i have a few sharings for you this week that i will split between postings, but i'll probably be behind the scenes once again as i figure out what's happening with the party things... i'll try my best to work on creations/challenges here and there, but please know that my priority list has changed a bit... so if i go MIA, then you are well aware on why... haha! =D

TGF hosted this AWESOME Cards for a Cause event this year gathering up cards to send to the students of Japan... in the wake of the devastation that the tsunami in March has caused, TGF had decided to send smiles to some students that have been affected... this was a totally FAB way to whip up some smiles to send... you can read about all of that here.... today i take you on a journey with some cards i've made and sent off...
this one here is my FAVE out of all.... can anyone guess why?!? LOL.... this event was awesome for me because i was able to use up scraps (no dent in the box though) and work on coloring/blending... i was able to test out colors i wouldn't otherwise use too....
and i finally got to ink up some stamps that haven't seen color yet!! My Guy Ian is one in that category... hehe!
so is Oliver...
and his sweetie pie Amelia.... when i first started off with making the cards to send to Japan, i immediately thought about the OA Journey set... especially with Oliver... and the sentiment "embark on a new journey", also from the OA Journey set, was a great lifter and spark in NEW beginnings....

i hope some of you have joined in TGF's efforts to send smiles from miles away.... i told myself, even if i could create 1 or 2 to send, my heart would be satisfied... i was able to create a little more than that which made my heart smile even more... as these cards make their journey overseas to Japan, i can't help but to hope that it will make someone smile and brighten their day!!

stop by tomorrow for another set of TGF's Cards for a Cause i've made... until then, have a fabulous day and SMILE!!!

Sweet November June Release Preview

Tuesday, tuesday!!! nothing like something a little "re-freshed!"

as Amy's Sweet November guest gal for June, comes along a chance to participate in the SN preview review at ATS... whoop whoop! so here's is my creation for that...
when doing some shopping, i came across these beautiful seashell stickers and just knew i needed that for this card... it accents little miss Pebbles... ugh i just noticed how horrible the picture is... i'm sorry... i'll try and take better pixs... it looks better IRL... hehe... anyway, since the sticker embellies took up a lot of space, not much room left, i tried my best to accent with other embellies too... so i added a button and some hemp... the sentiment is from TGF's OA Journey set and it's a very encouraging phrase if you remember my little story about Pebbles during the sneak peeks... =D

all of Amy's Sweet November June releases is available now at the ATS store if you didn't get them yet... 5 new mermaids/merbabies along with some friends... or did you already get them?! i hope so!! they make great cards/projects for summer!

Thanks for popping in today... check out Amy's blog and the ATS blog and see what the DT have created.... come back tomorrow to see what else i have sizzling these summer days.... (i don't even know what i'm sharing yet, LOL)....

Clean and Simple!

Hello peeps!!! Happy Monday to ya! i hope you all had a wonderful weekend! weekend was well spent with some family time as DD1 started summer pals today! she was super excited all weekend... now it's back to just me and the 2 lil' kiddies during the week... hope they let me craft... hehe!

back again this week with creations i've been working on from last week into the weekend.... so i'm hoping it will keep my blog busy with postings... hehe! we all know how that goes sometimes... things just come up! i have to seriously take some time off soon too so i can tackle all the handmade things for my lil' one's 1st birthday... i've procrastinated long enough and i can already feel the stress and i haven't even started... LOL... good thing is some of it is prepped and just needs a little putting together...

today's sharing is for the TGF Royalty Contest week 2... there's an awesome challenge this week that i used as an inspiration... check out the TGF blog for the contest details....
after staring at the inspiration photo for what seemed like forever, i took the inspiration and created a clean and simple card... took the color effects of black and white with a hint of color... embossed my solid white CS using my swirls folder and paired it with the Lily image from TGF's Fancy Fleur set (discontinued).... hmmm, an di couldn't resit adding black pearls... i didn't add a sentiment yet and this card is very versatile... i didn't know what i was going to use it for yet but it can be used for a wedding card, bday, sympathy, basically anything...

okie dokie... time for me to head on out and tend to my Monday chores... i'll be back tomorrow with something splashing... enjoy today, live for tomorrow and have a fabulous new week! thanks for checking in!!

Make someone happy!

Whoops!! i let most of Saturday sneak right by me!! almost....

another creation here to share with you that i finished yesterday and i have to tell you that i'm really loving the color combo... hope you do too!! maybe i've used it before with out noticing but it all goes so well together...

color challenge over at ATS for the weekly challenge and it's to use the colors AQUA, YELLOW and LIME... i found some DP perfect for the challenge... first piece was from a paper stack that i haven't used yet and the polka dot DP was some scrap... going through my humungous binder of stamps that would go perfectly with this combo i finally settled on using CC Designs Tulip Birgitta... i actually have her as a digi... kept the LO simple so the papers (and colors) standout with little embellishments. flowers, pearls and bling... the sentiment is also from CC Designs... the layer behind Birgitta was embossed with a new folder i snagged at BF's sale... i really like it and sanded it down a little just to show some white... and can you believe i didn't use any glitter?! i was tempted but opt not to... used a darker yellow for the tulip as i wanted it to really standout and now i think i should have layered it... oh well! i'm pretty "HAPPY" with this card...

got to do a little craft shopping at Island Paperie today and found some goodies to play with... even found some beautiful papers... as if i need more right?! i think i know what i want to use them for, unless it gets added to my hoarder collection... hehe!

taking a break tomorrow from posting but will be back on Monday to start a new week of sharing... hopefully i get to play in the craft room all night... so much i want to do, but it seems i always run out of time... story of my life... LOL... stay tuned and for now, enjoy the rest of the weekend!!! and make someone happy!! and make yourself happy by doing some crafting! =D

Will you be my Prince?

i'm very sure you all have seen the new June release at TGF with the 2 new princess images!! FABULOUS right?! there is a ROYAL contest happening over there and the first week theme was Fairy Tale... i just had to participate because really, we all have some fairy tale dream... why not live it through crafting... =D
i just knew TGF's Twinkle Tot Ava was the best pick for my version of a fairy tale... she is one of my favorites from that specific line and the image screams Princess and the frog... of course because she is kissing a frog! i saved up some rub ons from Imaginisce Fairy Tale line and that is what my background consists of... from the castle, to the clouds and that little grass hill... even the first layer (the pink flourish paper) is from the CS that was packaged with the rub ons... i generated the sentiment on the computer and layered it onto yellow CS to replicate the sun... and added just a hint of yellow stickles to the edge for some shine... glitter is also found on her tiara and the frog's cheek... and PEARLS! a Princess needs pearls!! hmm, perhaps this could be a twist for Valentine's Day... instead of "will you be my Valentine?" it will be "will you be my Prince?"

another creation comes your way, but not until tomorrow.... thank you for visiting today and thank you for all the wonderful comments!! i LOVE reading them and they always put me in a happier mood! toodles for now (with my best curtsey)!!

Chloe gone green!

practice makes perfect!! although "perfect" rarely exist for me! hehe! i'm jus' sayin'!! today i'm goin' green with TGF's Fairy Chloe that i was lucky enough to collect before she was discontinued... this creation was made for TGF FFCB - WOW challenge - Monochromatic last week...
besides representin' the "GREEN" cause with color, the papers and ribbons are scrap too, so i consider that going green, hehe... i'm a serial scrap hoarder because you just never know when a piece, even the tiniest, will be needed... i admit my "green" practice doesn't always work and when the time comes to really clean out the craft room i usually throw it away and start new... i know, bad right?! hence why i said perfect rarely exists... LOL... LO is simple and i can't remember where the sentiment is from... but i hope Chloe's magic dust will work on brightening someone's day!

tomorrow we're going to take a trip to fairy tale land and help a cutie find her prince!! thanks for coming by to visit!! hope you come back soon....

Congrats Class of 2011!

this past saturday, my cousin celebrated her graduation from Kamehameha Schools Maui!! it was a BEAUTIFUL event! she didn't go with the whole school colors or "star" themed for her party, but instead went with cherry blossoms and pink and black! i was very much in love with the theme and all of the centerpieces and fillers and it was totally different than a regular grad party... it was simple, easy and elegant! they had taiko drummers and a live well-known local band for entertainment... a slide show and even a photo booth!! way cool and the atmosphere was fun! CONGRATS Ashley and all the graduates of 2011!!
in celebration of her graduation, here is the card i made... using TGF's Digi Grad Anya and last week's TGF FFCB Mystery Monday case-ing Kim Yu, i was able to put this together quickly.... love Kim's card and i decided to use her LO... i tried to stick with the blues as my cousin's school colors are blue and white... the sentiment is from Hero Arts...

well, that's it from me today! tomorrow we are going green.... see you soon!

Christmas!! Christmas!!!

is she really doing a Christmas card already? YES i am!! hehe!! never too early... LOL

actually i made this card for TGF's FFCB Farm Fresh Friday challenge last week which was to create a FAV Holiday... after much discussion about what really was my fave holiday, i went with Christmas...
on this card i used TGF's Snow Anya paired with some pretty (sorta non-traditional) color DP... LOVE this pretty paper and glad i stashed it away... the colors are fun and lively... the white parts of her coat and boots are flocked and can't really tell just looking at the pix but there is some glitter on the image too... i found the snowflake charm in my charm stash and the sentiment is from Studio G... got a little playful with the LO as i wanted to use as much of the different DPs i could possibly fit!

so why is Christmas my fave holiday?!? well, there is sentimentally reasons for other holidays too, like thanksgiving, a day of thanks and Easter, but Christmas is one holiday i feel we can celebrate longer than a day... yes it has a specific day, but we get to enjoy the season for months before that day even comes... i LOVE looking at lights that decorate houses and trees, and the decorations set up at malls... it truly is the MERRIEST time of year... and if you're like me, i put up my tree on Thanksgiving day so i can enjoy it longer... if i really had my way, the tree would stay up all year... LOL... only thing missing is a "white" Christmas... if only it snowed in Hawaii... our white Christmas is purely RAIN!! LOL...

come back and visit tomorrow for another card creation!! don't want to overwhelm you too much!! hehe! Thanks for stopping by!!

why not start off today with a creation for the challenge at ATS - Anything Goes....

i've been hoarding this gorgeous blue washi paper for some time now and when i received a special gift from one of my blogging sisters, i just knew i had a perfect pair... and i have to say that this is my FIRST ever Magnolia stamp (along with one that came with this one ) added to my stamp collection! love Magnolias and all their cuteness and i think i might have to start collecting these... hehe! anyway, the image was perfect with the washi paper and the colors very bright and royal... different shades of blue (my FAVE) with gold... used the SU! lattice squares embossing folder that i just LOVE to add texture and i had a stash of gold ribbon to accent and bring out the gold outlines... and if you look really good at the image, i've even added some sakura dust gold ink to her kimono and flowers... sentiment is from Dandelion Designs...

well, thanks for coming by today! hope this card sparks some inspiration for you to craft! have a great week and i'll be back tomorrow!!

Hello, hello!!! are you having fun with the new Sweet November previews?! it's not over just yet... Day #3 with Amy Young and Sweet November, another merbaby is born...
Pebble likes nesting in her clam shell... not as adventurous as her merlings (siblings), she likes to keep close to home and make sure everything is in order... you'll find her sitting in her shell daydreaming or sharing stories with her pals Jumbo and Gumbo (shrimp)... you might find her tending to the sea garden or finding special treasures to decorate their home... she loves to collect shells and coral, and turn them into beautiful headpieces... she's crafty like that! =D Jumbo and Gumbo, although tiny, like to explore more and often share their adventures with Pebble...

Thanks to a great friend, Jenny, who shared her photo frame creation, i made my first attempt to try one... a little rough on the edges, but i'm very happy with the way this turned out... Thank you Jenny for sharing your tut with me!! i'm going to display this proudly in my home complete with a pix of my perfect pearls (my girls)...

you'll have a chance to take Pebble, Jumbo and Gumbo home with you on June 5th when they are released at ATS... so while you wait for them to be ready, why not swim over to Amy's blog and Nancy's too, to see what adventures they have to share with you!!

It's day 2 of a new splashing release preview for Amy Young and her Sweet November Stamps!! did you all LOVE Sandy and Mama Crabby yesterday?! Amy and Nancy rocked the ocean with their blast of colors didn't they?!

Today we are previewing some new little fins that are being added to the Sweet November Mermaid line, and don't let these cuties fool you because they are tiny... they are full of curiosity and can't wait to venture into the open sea...
Meet Splash and Wave! this bundle of sea-weetness is just a few newbies born undersea... they are super playful, LOVES to giggle and "splash" in the "waves"... and you might just see them peeking out at you while at the beach! they are VERY adventurous and want to explore all that they can!

when deciding what to do with these besties, shaker card came to mind... of course they love twirling around each other, they are just a playful pair... during one of their explorations, they met Crabster (he's part of the DP)... with so many questions about the ocean, first thing they asked him was.... "are you related to Mama Crabby?" too cute right?!

Splash and Wave, the playful BFFs, will be available for purchase on June 5th at ATS and will make a great addition to your mermaid family... don't forget to visit Amy and Nancy's blog too for more spotlight on Splash and Wave... and the ocean sounds say there is some salt candy lingering around on Amy's blog...
