FFF Sketch Challenge 6

Happy Sunday Friends! ok, ok, i did do another sketch late last night into the wee of this morning... actually happy with the turn out on this card... simple, bold and not too busy! but then i liked the other one too! LOL... so nonetheless i posted both up for TGF Farm Fresh Friday sketch challenge... left the ballon blank so that i can add a number when i need a bday card... hehe... advantages of creating your own cards right! well, keeping this one short... going to enjoy the rest of the sunday... doing nothing, LOL! finished all my chores... yay! have a great day everyone!

Submit? or Not?

I was so excited to play with this Hope and Grace set that was waiting for me when I got home from work yesterday... I won this set playing TGF's A-Stamp-A-Day Giveaway... I just had to get this set because it reminds me of my girls (see picture below to see why)... I think it was the hair that did it! anywho, so i wanted to use this set for the FFF sketch 6 challenge... but after putting it together, i'm not sure I really like it... i'm totally in love with the way the images came out but not too happy with the sketch... hmmm... maybe i'll do another one and just post this too... LOL... yah, even though they are 4 years apart, I still try to dress them as twins... drives the hubby cuckoo!!
Here are my girls! Alia's hair has grown a bit more since this picture was taken... Hope everyone is having a great saturday! Check back to see if I did do another one... LOL.. Thanks for stopping by!

Lil' Monkey Critiques

was trying to take a picture of the cards i finished last night, but my lil' monkey girl came in front the camera and said "Mommy, cheese!" can you see the tears on her face... her big sister made her cry!
she's the one that critiques my work... if she likes it she says "Wow!" if not, then she says "no, no"! LOL she loves bright colors and certain TGF images... she's the picky one...

She calls the TGF HG Sing stamp "pretty" or "Alia" (her name)... that's her nickname for the stamp i guess...

and finally got a picture without my Alia in it... so, made these cards last night with some scraps... stamped Sing on a few scraps, cut out her sarong and hibiscus and glued them on... most of the BG DPs are scraps that i need to use up... the only new DP on this card is the sun... got that for 25 cents at BFC... it was too cute not to buy... the sun is actually embossed on the paper (by Embossible Designs)... two sentiments that i printed from my computer... You are my sunshine and Aloha wau ia 'oe (i love you) in hawaiian... quick post tonight, but i had to share the pictures with my monkey girl... TFL!!! Hump day tomorrow! wish it was friday! Have a great night everyone!

FFF Sketch 5 -TGF

Wasn't going to participate in this challenge but decided otherwise... so indecisive... but anyway, here's my take in the TGF - FFF Sketch 5challenge... i thought of this card as a "i'm sorry" or expression of love card... LOL... from a guy of course... but whatever way you look at it is fine... =D Don't you just LOVE Edward! hehehe... i cut the heart with my cricut... ran it through my broken sewing machine... cut between the stitches with my piking scissors... hand stiched it somewhat together... was trying to get the broken look... what better sentiment than "stitch my broken heart"! LOL... the paper is old DP form BFC... used little silver brads since that was part of the sketch... and silver staples with my fastenator... what do you think??? TFL!!!

Have a great Saturday everyone! i gottah run and get ready for a wedding now!!! eek!

Some craft time

Hey Bloggers! one more post before bedtime (yah, it's way past my bedtime) =)...
I made this card thinking about pink lemonade... the colors just scream lemonade... LOL... anyway, this image was given to me by Denise! She was so kind to give me some wonderful images... Thank you bunches Denise! i altered this one a little... actually just trimmed off her wings...
Another image from Denise! i was actually going for a different look on this card, but i found some cute fastenator staples at BFC tonight that were on sale with an additional 50% off... so I had to use them... my stapling is a little off on one side, but hey, i'm not perfect... LOL... used more scraps on this one and used a lot of my sizzix texturez and embossing folder again... had to add bling...

found these sentiment stamps at BFC also... it was like 40 cents or something really cheap... Megan is from TGF... loving this color combo... laugh with me on the coloring... everytime i use my pale marvy pen for skin color, the ink smears the black... so i had to color her with my daughter's colored pencil... LOL... and the buttons, i have so much i needed to start using them... Cheers! Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend!!! TFL! Come again soon!

OCS - August/Colleen

I received my beautiful card from my August OCS partner Colleen today!!! she used my fav colors and my fav flower, cherry blossoms (sakura)... Wow! i'm just amazed at her creation... if you're wondering about the sentiment, "grateful", she explained it in her little note to me... as soon as we were introduced as partners, we clicked... it's so amazing... someone i've never met before and we share the same interest for many of things... both crafting and personal! Wow, my twin sister i never had... =D Thanks again Teri for doing your monthly OCS!!! it truly is special.... TFL!!!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!!!!

Playin' with scraps and FFF Challenge

Happy Day to everyone!!! First i wanna Thank Linda for introducing me on her blog!!! Thank you Linda!!! you're super sweet... (lots of hugs to you)... and just a few things today... above picture was created using scraps of paper i have piling up in my crate... the 2 cards in the back i actually just ran through my sizzix using the Thank you embossing folder... kept that simple (and plain, blah) but i can never have enough Thank you cards!! the front (dressed card) was made with some scraps... The image was given to me by Denise!! Thank you Denise, i'm FINALLY starting to use them... (hugs your way too)... When you have a chance, hop onto their blogs and enter their world of CREATIVTY! it's amazing!!!

this card frustrated me over the weekend... LOL... it was made for the TGF - FFF Sew Simple Challenge... well, it wasn't simple for me... haha! First, i broke my sewing machine trying to sew my paper (okay, it is 6 years old, maybe it's time for a new one... i have to go hint to the hubby)... so the "sewing" part of the card i had to make by hand... and then the ink from the "wish" smeared... so don't look to close, you'll see the flaws... LOL... but, i posted it for the challenge anyway... my mom needed a bday card so she took this one... LOL...
Hope everyone is enjoying their work week... for many in Hawaii, tomorrow is their friday! ugh, we don't have friday off but we are shutting the office at 1pm... i guess that's better than nothing! =D TFL!!!

Jessica's Sketch Challenge

Everyone has a little Princess in them... this is for the last challenge in the CLUB ANYA - a week of challenges... Friday's challenge was to use any sketch and creat a card... i got my sketch from www.icsketches.blogspot.com.... didn't want to add a sentiment because i have a few things coming up.... birthday, baby shower (it's a girl) and so forth... all the DP used on this card was from DCWV Nursery Girl stack... the brads are from Imaginisce... couldn't help but add some sparkle to this card... the star, crown and dress is layered using different CS and DP.. the shiny part of her dress is vellum over a layer of DP and i brushed on a little Stickles GG, which puffed the vellum... but nonetheless i was actually ok with that... a 3D creation by accident... LOL, it actually looks like it's blowing/fluttering... hehehe...

Hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday!!! 2 posts in one day! woosh! now i have to clean my craft room!

August OCS

Now that I know my partner received her card I can share it with you. This is my card that I made for my partner Colleen for Teri's August OCS... Be sure to hop on over to her blog to check on the details for September's OCS....

After much frustration on how I wanted to make the card I finally settled on a tri-fold... i've learned some really amazing things about my partner... and we have so much in common... she has a love of asian stamps, as do I so this was the perfect card for me to make and her to receive! Thanks Teri, for the opportunity to meet new friends!!

this is the first panel... Colleen's favorite colors are purple and pink, so those were the main colors for her card... the background paper I made with an old bamboo background stamp from SU (i think it was like 2002 or 2003)... I stamped it in green and brown for a more realistic look... the 2 chinese girls is a stamp from Mari and Me... perfect right! i punched out some sakuras to place her and there and completed it with little rhinestones...

this is the second panel... again the BG was stamped using a cherry blossom stamp from SU (i think it's retired! LOL)... The fan stamp is from one of the many stamps i bought many years ago... there was no copyright on the woodblock, so no one I can give credit to..

Again i used the same technique as the first panel and did it again on the last panel... i used my favorite sitting girl (no one to give credit to)... the crane is from SU... Cranes represent longevity... so i thought perfect with my little note... and more punched sakuras with rhinestones...
In my honest opinion, i think this is the best card i've made by far... Or atleast one that i absolutely approve of... LOL... Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend! TFL!!!!

Crazy Hair Challenge (short post)

Here's my take on the Crazy Hair Challenge for Tuesday at Club Anya... what better way to use up all the ribbon after opening such great presents!!! TFL!!!

Hope everyone is enjoying today! I'm enjoying the light rain we've been having all day!!! thank goodness the storm didn't hit!

Club Anya Challenge and just because...

Waiting for the storm... actually here on Maui it's off and on... Love the weather but we really don't know what to expect... what better book to read to my girls but "The storm is coming"... a cute little book about animals on a farm... and to make light of it all, i'm still crafting... LOL

Mermaid Anya was used for the Back to School challenge at Club Anya's - week of challenges... Covered a mini composition tablet for my daughter... she loves to write down what she did that day and write little notes to her friends... just a little something she can keep in her bag...

Megan was used for her luggage tag for her snack bag... i just had to put little rhinestones on her ears... just like my daughter (except she loses it all the time)... the tag doesn't qualify for the challenge, because it's not an Anya, but i made it for her just because...

Hope everyone is enjoying the beginning of a new week... and to my fellow island sisters, be safe, stay dry...

Have a great Monday everyone!!!

FFF Sketch 4

Finally finished my card for the TGF - FFF Sketch 4.... i used HG Sing or as Denise calls her (Ukulele girl) which matches perfect too... I'm in an "orange" phase, don't know why, but i'm at the moment liking the color... LOL... thought the raffia would go perfect with the image of the card so i used that instead of the traditonal ribbon or scrap of paper... I stamped the image on some scrap DP and cut out the flower and sarong and pasted that on the original image i stamped to actually use... I stamped the origianl image directly onto tan cardstock for skin color... it gives the skin color some balance... LOL... what do you think?!?! Have a great Sunday! TFL!!!

supplies used:
Yellow card stock for the base card
DCWV Citrus Stack
Raffia
TGF - HG sing Stamp
Clear stamps Happy Birthday sentiment
EK Success scallop border punch

I finally finished my card for Teri's August OCS... after much wasted time changing the style of the card i finally agreed to one and it came out a little better than i originally envisioned... LOL... won't post it yet though, would like my partner to see it first.... =D
