so, although i haven't been crafting or blogging as much as i should or want to, i feel REALLY honored to have been passed an exquisite award from some wonderful and talented crafting sisters! Big MAHALOS to Joy, Sweets and Colleen for sending this award my way!!! it is definitely an honor to be recognized and appreciated!!!

so, we all know crafting/blogging is like a fashion fad... we all get into one big thing that is new and then eventually the latest craze begins to wind down... in crafting, blogging to be precise, it's the same fad... and that means not everyone are getting the recognition they deserve... these awards are always hard to pass on because i do feel ALL of you deserve recognition... sometimes i do have to play by the rules, BUT please know that in my heart, YOU all deserve this AWARD!!!

Blog Award 2011

Wow!!! my poor blog has been SO neglected!! i'm feeling much better (health, mentally, physically... basically the whole works) and hope to come back full blown!! The new year didn't quite start off right but i did vow to make the BEST of the rest of the year!! and i do have explanations on why i've been missing...

all started off with catching a cold before the holidays (Christmas and then a relapse before New Year's)... so of course being down and out made me not want to craft... haha, i still did some anyway... we rang into the new year with fabulous friends, wouldn't change that.... but then we got really bad news on New Year's morning... a family tragedy that left all of us in the gloom... paid our respects and laid a wonderful smile to rest last weekend... and well, it's time to cherish memories and move on... so, that is why i haven't been around much!!

i have to say, coming back with a wonderful blog award from 2 wonderful ladies put me in the spirit of getting my "buns" back here.... and i'm truly looking forward to a brand new year of crafting, learning, sharing and all things new!!! so here goes....

a few things you may not have known about me....

1. i am the only child from my mother and father but i have 4 half sisters and 1 half brother and 1 step sister and 1 step brother

2. born and raised in Hawaii but i do not have any Hawaiian ancestry.

3. i have a mixture of Japanese, Filipino and Chinese nationalities.

4. had my first child when i was 19.... (young i know, but i wouldn't change that choice for anything in the world!)

5. my hubby and i started dating when i was a junior in high school.... 10 years later (ok not yet, but in May), here we STILL are, stronger and still deeply in love... =D

6. i LOVE volleyball... and still wished i had the push to play in high school...

7. one weakness in crafting is ribbon! Love it! even if i know i won't ever use it, if it's pretty, i'll buy it... LOL

8. my all time favorite character is Hello Kitty

9. i LOVE monkeys!! they are so cute!! and my kiddies have atleast one item of clothing with monkeys on top!

10. my favorite Disney movie is Mulan, but Tangled is a close second.

It's Friday!!!! Yipppeee!!! it felt like the longest week ever, and i'm ecstatic that it's finally FRIDAY!!! i'm telling myself to survive the next 9 hours at work and then the home stretch is on for the weekend... went a bit MIA yesterday... had to rest up because hubby had a super late flight coming home last night from a few days off island... i'm just SO happy he is home now... =D

my camera is MIA right now so i couldn't take any pictures of some things i wanted to share with you... the hunt for it is in progress... no matter how much that camera gives me problems, i can't seem to part with it... although it parted with me for the time being... hopeful on finding it tonight... i think it may be under the pile of junk mail in my basket... LOL

a little out of order but here are 7 things about me...
~i'm the 1st child, grandchild and great-grandchild on my maternal side
~i'm of mixed nationalities (Japanese, Filipino and Chinese)
~funny family fact... my step brother is 1 week older than me, and my half twin sisters are 3 weeks older than me... don't ask! LOL (let's just say my dad didn't have anything better to do)
~i knew who my biological father was, i remember him slightly when i was much younger, 3 or so, and i went to school with my half sisters, but i actually met him in a lifetime i'd really remember on my wedding day in 2006...
~i was raised by my maternal grandparents, and after Papa went to heaven, by my mom's only brother
~i wasn't really girly in high school... sure i dressed like a girl, and dated, but it wasn't until junior year that i actually showed that side... LOL raised with a bunch of guy cousins and just a handful of girls, you tend to hang with the boys...
~i want to travel the world before my time on earth is through.... my biggest dream...

haha! how's that for some things you all didn't know about me... =D i've led a pretty simple life growing up and i wouldn't change any of it... okay, maybe just a few things...

the next part is a little difficult as i haven't been blogging much, there hasn't been much new bloggers i've come across... so, i pass this on to any of you that did not receive this award... because all in all, you all are beautiful bloggers in your own little way... so please take the award and display it proudly!!!

Happy Tuesday Friends!! Wow, i feel like i'm in another time zone... haven't done any crafting since my DT posts, and i'm feeling the withdrawals... but with caring for my still not healed arm and a house full of sickies, there was just no way i was making it into the craft room!! I do apologize for my absence... it will probably be another week of not posting much as, DD#2 got hit hard Saturday with a slight fever and lots of congestion... poor baby!! and Sunday and Monday she was determined to have me lie with her the whole day... on a plus side, atleast i've gotten some much needed rest!! =D

Happy Friday Everyone!!!! it's another beautiful furlough friday here in Hawaii... although i'm not on furlough, i took the day off since DD#1 is... and with the unexpected change in schedules, i had no sitter for today... so here i am, up, bright and early, on my day off....
