It's beginning to look like SPRING!

well, Spring will be here soon enough! Happy Monday friends!! Thank you so much for bearing with me while i've been down, out and sick these past weeks... i am feeling much better!! better enough to get back to crafting, blogging, emailing and the works... =D

i absolutely LOVE spring!! lots of great things to look forward to in the spring time!! many celebrations too... when i think of spring, i think of girls' day, Easter, mother's day, my wedding anniversary and of course my bday (which i'm not looking forward to cause it makes me old, LOL)... and i just love the bright colors that represent that spring is here and the blossoming of flowers... it's really a wonderful season to be in... so today, my creations are based on bold spring colors with Easter and Mother's day celebrations in mind... take a look!

i once again turned to my old faithful french fry box die and added a new twist... after cutting out the templates, i embossed the sides and front of the box using my swiss dots embossing folder... took out my spring colored papers and added a strip to the front... then after going through the many dies i haven't used in a while or haven't used at all, i found this layering flowers die tucked away... cie-cut some of those completed with a brad middle and popped it onto the strip... for an Easter theme i used this bunny with the Happy Easter around it by Studio G and punched it into circles and layered it with the scallop nestie... these are ready to be filled with treats and given away! in fact, i'll have some of these at the next craft fair event i'm participating in...

Here's a little recap of how it all works!

1. You can swap anything you think is appropriate. Such as cards, 3d projects, gift tags, altered items, etc. You are not restricted to just a card for each swap... for example, you can do a card this month and gift tags next month, etc... be creative and use your talents! Many of you do not limit yourself to cards, there are some that do awesome jewelry, altered items and so on, so this is the swap to make something special and surprise someone...


2. I kindly ask that you please send out your swaps before month's end. If you can't send it by the end of the month, please let me know so i can inform your partner.

3. The most important of all, HAVE FUN! We all love surprises!!!

Black and White with a POP!

I apologize for not having a creation for today's challenge!!! =( been sick all week and had no energy to craft much... stayed up late friday night packing craft stuff and last minute things for the Whale Day celebration on Saturday, which being sick i wasn't really into it, but we paid for the space and didn't want to loose out, so i suffered... my lil' man is almost a 100% better, but now it's mommy's turn to get better... dealing with a very sore throat and an ear infection, yah, had to take a rain check on crafting... felt a little better today and thought i could atleast try and attempt to get something done, but then my eldest girl twisted/sprained her ankle riding her scooter... no fun at all... story of my life... LOL...

TOTE-ly giving!

Okay, back again to share some more crafties that i was suppose to share last week... i'm still down with the sickies and have been told i'll probably be sick for another week along with the hubby and lil' man... wish i had a magic wand to zap this away... been trying to craft here and there when i feel up to it, but not much progress has been made... i've went as far as try to clear up my desk... LOL... so guess not much at all right!

anyway, quick post and then back to some down time with the TV... made these cute totes for the craft fair also... i've received a few as RAKs from some talented ladies the past year and always wanted to try and make a few myself... of course playing with dimensions is always the work load of it, but i love the way these turned out... not as nearly nice as the ones i received but a simpler version... haha!
and YES, i used some scraps on these too! Love it when i can use up the pile... although it seems to be growing again and i'm not sure how... LOL... these totes are fabulous for gift giving... like i was telling some peeps, it can fit lots of goodies inside... gift cards, yummies, little knick-knacks, even my post it holders... hehe! i tried to match some of these totes to the other things i had for any easy gift "bag" to give away... but i think i only sold 2...

okay peeps... time to couch it again.... can someone please make the ceiling stop spinning?!?! LOL... until i post again.... TAKE CARE!!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!!!!



Monday has rolled in once again! Darn it, why can't i keep track of time?!? seems like it was just Monday, LOL! the weekend was wasteful, being sick is the reason... and no matter how much i tried to stay in bed, i just couldn't not participate this week with Lollipop Crafts!

My FAVE coloring medium is COPICS! haven't mastered the different techniques in using them though... i'm still working on blending, which i'm getting a little better at, but i'm still no pro, yet i just LOVE coloring with them.... might have to look at taking a class on how to use them, hehe!

and today i have a showing on just that! Fleur Anya from TGF is colored using copics... a little blending on the image but not too much... my head is still a little stuffy so i didn't really want to get extremely detailed on a creation, i thought this was really simple and lovely to do... it's an easy peasy notepad cover... notepad is a little bigger than the ones in my previous post...

i just found out we got a spot at a whale day event this weekend and so now i'm trying to put a few things together... i like these notepads and i think i'll be making a few more.... OMG, can i do all nighters again with this cold?!?! probably not, i'll just do what i can... =D

Alright... i know i said i had a lot to share... i still do.... but i've been MIA once again in hopes that i can get rid of this cold/sickness... this time around, it's got me not wanting to craft at all... i sit at my desk and my head just stays stuffy... usually i could do little things, but nope, can't even do that... so for the time being, i'm going to lay low (in other words lay in bed) and try and get better... once i'm feeling better i'll share the rest of the things i've been holding on to... =/

Dear Mr. Cold....

Please go away! I've tried everything to get rid of you but you're just SO stubborn and annoying if i may add. You make the day drag, food tasteless, sleeping uncomfortable and my mood irritable. Medicines won't cure you, vicks and cough drops do nothing, what will it take to just send you away?

Dear Ms. Sick and Irritable...

Too bad! Just deal with it!

Oh jus' CLIP it!

Hellllo Tuesday!!! ok, yah i'm a little "late" into the night to be posting, but hey, please give me some slack as i'm a bit under the weather... so much for pre-posting huh! i really did mean to post this earlier but chose to stay in bed..... stuffy head, congestion, cough, blah! the wonders of being sick! Thanks for all the get well wishes too!! really puts a smile on my facey....

alright, so i have a few more sharings for you and today is all about CLIPS!! best thing about doing these clips, you can use up those scraps... even the itty bitty ones....
that's exactly what i did here... these are the really small binder clips... i had some medium ones too but failed to photograph them (don't know how i missed it)... again making these didn't dent my pile but i made good use of the smaller scraps... and i was really surprised i sold some of these at the keiki karnival... guess i'm not the only one that likes to "color" my office supplies... LOL
here's some jumbo paper clips that i also used scrap on.... one side is just a punch out of scrap and on the other i used my MS layering daisy punch and added a rhinestone to the middle... not much of these sold but i did sell some...

all in all doing the keiki karnival was a great experience... it wasn't a full blown craft fair but we met some awesome vendors/crafters and made some contacts for future events... not bad at my first attempt... so this week and hopefully next, i'll be laying low on the crafting and catching up on those zs, cause we already got a space for another event next month, which means i'll be back to crafting full blown again! well, unless i start prepping now... haha!!
