Sweet Treats!

It's ALOHA Friday!!! yes it is!!! i'm looking forward to the weekend as lots of things are going on.... not looking forward to the prep work, but nonetheless the weekend is here.... =D it's been an incredible bumpy week and i'm still searching for some quiet time... well, i've been putting in some overtime in the craft room to relax my mind on some things... it has been a win-win situation.... and has helped bunches... didn't think about "those" things too much and i got a lot of stuff done....

kiddies are feeling better and DD1 is looking forward to her birthday party tomorrow... i am too.... be nice to see family and friends... maybe that's what i need right now... =D hoping it all goes smoothly....

so, DD1's birthday party was not expected to be an actual party... i was thinking somewhere along lunch at the park or something small... however, daddy gave in and went for a jumping castle and a few more friends added to the list... AAHHH! so we're having it at home... on such short notice, i wasn't able to do invites myself or other things like huge amounts of favors, etc... but i wanted to do atleast something small... the kiddies all get treat bags filled with goodies but what about the adults right?!? hehe... after spinning and blurfing on what to create, i saw the Mystery Monday challenge at TGF's FFCB and got some inspiration there.... this week they are CASE-ing a creation from Mariska.... i love the way she did her card... it's long style and i really like it... so i twisted it a bit and made candy wrappers.... (click on picture to make bigger)
DD1's theme is iCarly and it was hard to find things here to match so i just used the cutesy TGF Sweet Tooth set (note this set is no longer available at TGF).... LOVE the little monkey with her surprised expression... found some pretty glittered My Mind's Eye Party Theme scraps in a theme of stars and circles and the colors are pretty close to the iCarly stuff i got on Oahu, so it worked out well... basically all i did was measure the candy bar... used solid CS to make the base... and added my layers... the wrappers have 2 different DP scraps on them to off set colors and/or the prints... majority of them have some kind of 'star' print... computerized a little thank you note and voila!!! made about 20 of these in 2 days.... phew... thank goodness it's done... i was only going to make 12, but like i said, the list grew, so a run to the store for more candy bars is a must today.... do you likey?! i think it's simple and cute... ok, kinda simple... hehe...

yikes! it's off to bed for me... DD1 has May Day today and it's the first one since she's been in elementary that i'm able to attend!! looking forward to watching her dance and see her final project that she did for the lei contest...

Have a FAB Friday and a wonderful weekend.... stay tuned for more sharings...... Happy Aloha Friday!!
