Lollipop! Lollipop!

Hellllo Thursday! why did you have to come by so fast?!? hehe... being busy, i'm surprised i haven't lost track of the days yet... time yes, but the days.... i still get an A+ on that... =D

Ben Franklin Crafts 60th Anniversary Celebration here on Maui at the Kahului Store is this Saturday from 10am - 2 pm... from the advertisements i've seen, it sounds like it's gonna be a FUN FUN FUN day!! so if you live on the island or are here for a visit, don't forget to stop by the store... rumor has it that an iPad2 is up for grabs?!? =D

i was asked again if i had time to help out and what did i say?!?! OF COURSE!!! (as if the staff doesn't see me enough, LOL)! so i'm sharing my make n' take that i'll be doing that day...
wanted to stick with the celebration theme AND have it easy for the kids (or kids at heart) to make n' take home... after fiddling with a few ideas i got some inspiration from the Lollipop Covers found here on the BFC website... i just changed it up a bit to fit the theme... if clicked on the link to take a look at the inspiration, you'll notice that instead of making the cover (bottom) my main focus, i added an image to the stick instead...

after making these samples, i made some mental notes that these favors would be great as table deco or to list seating arrangements and more... really, you can actually do a lot with this simple project... by changing the papers you could have a baby theme, wedding shower, basically anything... personalize it anyway you want... but for my make n' take, what you see, is what you're gonna make! =D

so if you're in town for the day, stop by the store, check out all the haps and come by my table and say Hi! i'll let you make one too!! hehehe!

Mahalo for visiting with me today... i'll be back tomorrow with the demo i'll be doing at the celebration as well! ta-ta!!

CONGRATULATIONS Mr. & Mrs.....

It's ALOHA Friday!!! wooohoooo!!!

in less than 12 hours from now, my besties will be exchanging vows! yipppppeeeee!!! it's about darn time! =D they decided to do a simple ceremony and then opted for an intimate gathering versus a high end reception... oh yes, we're gonna have some fun tonight!!

besides me making my yummy mini blueberry cheesecakes for tonight by request, i was also asked to do some last minute favors.... pressed for time this is what i came up with....
pillow box favors... very clean and simply decorated... used the sizzix pillow box die, printed the little thank yous and made a little band to go around the box... hubby helped out and punched all the little hearts and flowers... and he even added the rhinestones to the flower mids! isn't he the sweetest?!? thanks darling, might have not finished without your help!! =D
here's a close up... thankfully with little time i only had to make 50 (all 50 couldn't fit in the photo above this one, LOL)... phew... with a little overtime i was able to complete this in the nick of time for the big day.... hope the besties like it!

CONGRATULATIONS to
Mr. and Mrs. Matthew and Rhovelyn Watanabe!!!

Birthday Favors....

{Looking for the Lollipop Crafts blog hop post?! Scroll down or take the link above. Thank you!}

Hey friends!!! sorry today's sharing comes a little late in the day... last night while cleaning out pictures from my camera, i unintentionally deleted what i wanted to share... =( that made me very very sad.... and there is no way of me re-photographing since it is well on it's way to make it to Japan! anyway, it was 2 more cards that i made to send to Japan in my efforts of participating in BFC Cards of Aloha event... i was able to send off a total of 6 cards for the cause....

In place of my accident, i'm sharing what i was working on last night.... my son's 1st birthday party is less than 2 weeks away and it's down to the count down and "last" minute prepping and basically i'm in the terms of craziness.... yah, i procrastinated AGAIN... thank goodness the last things are sorta easy peasy....
here are the favor labels that i stamped using the cute images from SU!'s Summer Splash set... i actually stamped them during the weekend but wanted to make sure the ink dried before sending it through my printer.... i like the burst of colors! makes it so fun and happy to see....
instead of doing hard core favors, i decided i wanted to do a candy buffet... that way the guest can choose their own yummies.... and that will be our "thank you" goodies... so we bought some plain treat bags from BFC... this is where the labels come into play.... hmm, need your opinion! are the bags to plain??? should i decorate it a bit more? or leave as is?? i'm going back and forth with the options, but honestly thinking that eventually it will be thrown away so should i really put that much more time on them?? love to hear what you think!!

hopefully later this week i'll be able to show you the table decorations... i'm still, ugh, working on it... LOL...

Don't forget Lollipop Crafts Anniversary blog hop is still going on until midnight tonight! make sure you visit each DT as there are hidden prizes all over... and i should be back tomorrow with my He-"art" journaling pages... toodles, have a fantastic day!!

Sweet Treats!

It's ALOHA Friday!!! yes it is!!! i'm looking forward to the weekend as lots of things are going on.... not looking forward to the prep work, but nonetheless the weekend is here.... =D it's been an incredible bumpy week and i'm still searching for some quiet time... well, i've been putting in some overtime in the craft room to relax my mind on some things... it has been a win-win situation.... and has helped bunches... didn't think about "those" things too much and i got a lot of stuff done....

kiddies are feeling better and DD1 is looking forward to her birthday party tomorrow... i am too.... be nice to see family and friends... maybe that's what i need right now... =D hoping it all goes smoothly....

so, DD1's birthday party was not expected to be an actual party... i was thinking somewhere along lunch at the park or something small... however, daddy gave in and went for a jumping castle and a few more friends added to the list... AAHHH! so we're having it at home... on such short notice, i wasn't able to do invites myself or other things like huge amounts of favors, etc... but i wanted to do atleast something small... the kiddies all get treat bags filled with goodies but what about the adults right?!? hehe... after spinning and blurfing on what to create, i saw the Mystery Monday challenge at TGF's FFCB and got some inspiration there.... this week they are CASE-ing a creation from Mariska.... i love the way she did her card... it's long style and i really like it... so i twisted it a bit and made candy wrappers.... (click on picture to make bigger)
DD1's theme is iCarly and it was hard to find things here to match so i just used the cutesy TGF Sweet Tooth set (note this set is no longer available at TGF).... LOVE the little monkey with her surprised expression... found some pretty glittered My Mind's Eye Party Theme scraps in a theme of stars and circles and the colors are pretty close to the iCarly stuff i got on Oahu, so it worked out well... basically all i did was measure the candy bar... used solid CS to make the base... and added my layers... the wrappers have 2 different DP scraps on them to off set colors and/or the prints... majority of them have some kind of 'star' print... computerized a little thank you note and voila!!! made about 20 of these in 2 days.... phew... thank goodness it's done... i was only going to make 12, but like i said, the list grew, so a run to the store for more candy bars is a must today.... do you likey?! i think it's simple and cute... ok, kinda simple... hehe...

yikes! it's off to bed for me... DD1 has May Day today and it's the first one since she's been in elementary that i'm able to attend!! looking forward to watching her dance and see her final project that she did for the lei contest...

Have a FAB Friday and a wonderful weekend.... stay tuned for more sharings...... Happy Aloha Friday!!

Clutch it! says the Owl....

Aloha Friday is finally here!!! and my DH will be home soon!! yippee!!

Hope you all had a wonderful week and now you're ready for the weekend!!! i've been super busy this week jumping from project to project and well, i'm about to show another project that i jumped right to....

i purchased a Clutch kit from Joy U.... she made these FABULOUS clutches for Halloween and then decided to make kits for those interested in making one... so if you're interested in getting your own kit with instructions to make more, head on over to her blog for her contact information... she's selling them for $5 each and it includes everything you need to try out your very first one...

as soon as it came in, i just knew i had to put it together... i pushed all my projects aside and assembled mine... i used the burlap embossing folder by Tim Holtz... i liked the way it textured the clutch... looks like some kind of faux animal skin... but don't ask me which one... LOL... Thanks Joy for the awesome kit... i will surely be using the instructions for the upcoming holidays!! don't forget, if you want your hands on one of these clutches, contact Joy!!

here's a party favor from another friend, whose name is also Joy... remember i said i won her anniversary giveaway, this cute owl favor and memo pads were also in my package!! if you were one of her virtual guests helping her celebrate the Joy of Crafting's anniversary, then you got one of these cuties too! isn't it just so so cute?! all the yummies are gone now, but this friendly owl still sits on my desk... he watches over me as i craft... hehe! Thank you Joy!!!

i've been seeing lots of wonderful creations using this french fry box, and i just had to get my hands on this die... i did find one, and it's on it's way to me... hope i get it soon... it will be perfect for me to whip up some favors for my DD2's upcoming birthday!!

alright, that's all i have to share with you today... i'm looking forward to the weekend... there's a craft fair on Sunday i'm eagerly waiting to go to, the first big one for the holiday season... some sale shopping, hula practice and a party... woohoo! Enjoy the rest of this Aloha friday!! Hugs!!
