Let's Celebrate with Katsura!

Hip-hip- HOORAY!!! It's RELEASE day!!! Woohoooo!! bet you all been waiting for this day... especially those who have boys in their lives... =)
LinkSister Stamps Release #7 - FINAL preview day!! And we are celebrating BOYS' DAY with Katsura!! (i had to save my FAVE image for last, hehehe)... so, which of these boys are your fave?? or are you going to get them ALL?!?! ;)

Before we get to my creation, i want to send another big THANK YOU to Jenny, for having me guest design for this release!! Jenny, i had so much fun with these boys!!! the ideas are endless for them and they helped me try or atleast create things i have never done or haven't done too much of... Thank you, thank you with all my heart, it's such an honor!! And to Debi, (she's like an older sister taking wing of a little sister) Thank you Debi for having me join you for previews too!!! it's been such a blast!!
Look at him!! isn't he just adorable?!?! Katsura actually does represent Boys' Day, a japanese celebration, but for those that do not celebrate it, you can use this cutie for an all occasion creation... so i left off using a 'happy boys' day' sentiment to show you (but i'll be adding one later for the lil' one)... Katsura can be used with happy birthday or just for you... ah, you get where i'm going... =)

my immediate thought was to use some washi paper for this card... but after dwelling (he was the most challenging for me) on this and that, i decide to use some pretty cool well rounded papers... all the papers are from Deja Views Soda Pop collection.... fun colors i guess... anyway, Katsura is propped on a cream colored nestied oval that i distressed with Antique Linen distress inks... and no i didn't create the shadow effect, it's actually really there.... LOL... wanted to color in the fish blue so so bad (my son's fish is blue IRL) but i thought it would be too overwhelming with all the blues... so i went with red and a honey orange/yellow, which ended up standing out against the papers... border punch is from MS... what do you think? i know it's not the most outrageous creation you've seen, but i like it and that's the finished outcome!!

Don't forget to check out Debi and the Sister Stamps blog today for the final reveal... and then head on over to your fave craft store (retailers listed on the SS blog) and get your boys!!!

Thank you again to Sister Stamps, Jenny, Debi and all of you who came out to join us in the previews!!! Truly appreciate your comments, love and support!!!

  1. Woo Hoo!! Another gorgeous creation with another gorgeously colored little boy. This truly shows all the options you can do if you don't have washi paper to make it work. Any colored "boy" paper will be fun. Gr8 job with the release Kris! I have enjoyed each of your makes. You rocked it out sistah! ;)

  3. This is adorable Kris!! Love that you used regular dp instead of washi paper. The striped band really makes Katsura pop, great contrast from the circles!! Fantastic showcase of the new release!! Have a happy Easter weekend! ;D
